Wait is OP saying Kristof's article itself is antisemitic? That is insane. So no one is allowed to say anything negative about Israel even if it is true? How does that help the cause against antisemitism in general? Or like do you just automatically assume reporting like this is wrong bc you don't want it to be right? Maybe you need to do some self reflection? SO glad to see so many people don't agree with OP and are expressing the absolute frustration it is to see people conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism.
Kristoff's article is actually antisemitic. He timed his publication the day before the massive Civil Commission report on Hamas' use of s3xual violence in their October 7 attack and with the hostages. You can read about that here: https://www.cnn.com/2026/05/12/middleeast/report-sexual-violence-hamas-oct-7-attacks-intl Timing his piece to preempt this report draws a moral equivalency that minimizes the violence done to Israelis by terrorists whose stated objective is the murder of all Jews. He straight-up states that as the objective in the conclusion of his piece: "Think of it this way: The horrific abuse inflicted on Israeli women on Oct. 7 now happens to Palestinians day after day." That's Kristof saying the quiet part out loud: equivalency in order to minimize Israeli trauma and excuse Hamas' terrorism. There should absolutely be accountability in Israel's prison system, but the abuses parallel issues in the US prison system and most other prison systems around the world; it's a systemic human problem that we all need to do better to address. I hope Bibi and his far-right ministers are voted out in the next election and that some real reforms are implemented in Israel.
85,000 dead Palestinians, most of whom were innocent civilians and children. Sorry, that's an inconvenient truth to you.
