Only ignorant people say this. Combine a great trip to Arkansas with sites along the way in TN. Beautiful nature, great history and delicious food.

What is the fixation here with Arkansas? Is it the new Ritz Carlton Dorado Reserve?

I seriously cannot imagine telling my friends we are going to Arkansas for spring break with a straight face.

LOL I have not once mentioned Arkansas in this thread prior to this - but I am trying to visit all 50 states. I would not be embarrassed!

NYC for 3 nights - lots of broadway, good restaurants, excursions, shopping, etc.

And this is why I responded early about ignorance. First, your travel is performative for your friends? And second, these are the same provincial people who used to have the poster on the wall of their dorm room that showed the US as New York blending into California. There are few domestic destinations that are deemed acceptable to DCUM in between the coasts.

People like you are free to travel where you would like (although it does leave you shockingly ignorant of your own country's history, nature, food and people), but since you haven't tried it, it might be wise not to make rude comments about other people's trips (and homes.)

We've done both over spring break - usually miss a day or two of school to get a 10-day trip, including flight time. Worth it.

Yes, there’s no shame in this. Arkansas was my 48th state. And it was nice!

DP. Why not? It’s got a national park. It has pretty areas. And there are interesting things to see almost anywhere if one keeps an open mind and curious nature.

This kind of thinking in a grown adult is so pathetic.

After the long gray winters here we like warmth, sun, short flights and same time zones so we almost always head to a FL beach.

Is it warm enough to swim at the beach for spring break?
