And this is why I responded early about ignorance.  First, your travel is performative for your friends?  And second, these are the same provincial people who used to have the poster on the wall of their dorm room that showed the US as New York blending into California.  There are few domestic destinations that are deemed acceptable to DCUM in between the coasts.

People like you are free to travel where you would like (although it does leave you shockingly ignorant of your own country's history, nature, food and people), but since you haven't tried it, it might be wise not to make rude comments about other people's trips (and homes.)[/quote]
