Number of colleges applied to & # accepted to?

Accepted at both ED (top choice and a bit of a reach) and one rolling admissions with a large scholarship (a bit of a safety but we didn't expect the scholarship). Withdrew all the RD applications due to ED.

Current senior, applied and accepted at 4. Didn't want to bother with any reaches, so all were targets/safeties.

Class of 2026, middle of the pack academically, 4 total APs, no ECs, works part time after school and on weekends, ~4.0 wgpa, LCPS.

Applied to ODU, Radford, UMW, Longwood, CNU, JMU & GMU. Presumptive business major.

Accepted to all, honors college at Radford and ODU, merit ranging from $0 to $4k/year.

Choosing between JMU and GMU. Couldn't be happier for her.

Applied to 10 and got into 10. His HS only allowed for 10 applications so I didn’t want him to waste any.

Plan was for 18 schools, but kid only submitted 12. Applied ED/REA to an ivy/super reach and submitted 9 EA apps and 2 RD apps before ED announcement. Was ready to submit 6 additional RD apps but kid has accepted ED. Plan was 3 safety, 5 target, and 10 reach. Reach/target included ivy and range of t50 schools. Strong student but highly competitive major.

DC1 - applied to 7; got into 1 (probably could've gotten off the waitlist for 1) -- cs major and overshot

DC2 - applied to 11; got into 11 with good merit at 9 out of the 11. Not a cs major (and DC decided to go to the one oos that didn't offer any merit, go figure).

UVA is similar. Some of my kid’s friends with same gpa/scores and ec type were rejected while my kid was accepted. It’s unpredictable.

But it’s likely because your class rank/GPA/SAT fall in the borderline zone. I’m sure there’re students in their school who can view UVA as a safety.

Nope. Uw 4.0; most rigorous course path; 35 ACT
