What is Wrong With This Falls Church House?

It's a narrow street too, which mean street parking on both sides would be difficult.

And you'd be an idiot. There are plenty of places in suburbia where parking is a non-issue, and this neighborhood is one of them.

I’d also be an idiot then because after the snow we just had in not dealing with neighbors and parking

Street parking is a hardship you deal with when you live in urban walkable areas for the privilege of having easy access to amenities and transit. This is not a walkable area, so you will be driving everywhere. Yes, snow, heavy rain, storms, having guests over or repair people, etc can make it annoying to deal with street parking, having at least a carport is life changing.

Your post is unintelligible. The house went under contract very quickly, despite all the supposed negatives some posters were eagerly trotting out (most of which were unrelated to the high school assignment).

I am not the PP, but pointing out the problems with this house doesn't mean it wont' sell, simply because anything in the inner suburbs that are zoned for ok schools and is a detached SFH on a residential st for UNDER 1 mil is highly desirable for people who don't have a lot of equity to swap housing or high HHI. If I were a DINK couple wanting a home together and not wanting to deal with condo fees or annoyances of HOA and sharing walls with others I would get this house. The alternative is an older dingy townhome in more premium areas, but with strings attached to townhome ownership. In central mcLean (if you insist on Mclean pyramid) older townhomes go for over 1 mil. Of course, this house would sell.

By way of comparison, the only single-family house in the Langley HS district for under a million is outside the Beltway and appears to be a tear-down. So they shouldn't have a hard time selling this house at all.

Nobody is going to buy this house with the high school in mind. Whoever buys it will either not have kids or have little kids. It's a starter home.

If they have 1 kid, why wouldn't they? It's enough for a family of 3 with a HS kid. Also, with little kids I'd find the stairs and lack of garage parking to be annoying and would prefer a townhome that provides these conveniences, plus some neighborhood playground and a pool.
