Best public school options within 30 minutes of dc

Agree. We are in the Whitman district in Bethesda and can get to K street in 20-30 minutes depending on time of day. We did both private and public for our kids and were pleased with the public schools.

Not true if you have to go over the 395 bridge.

Yeah I've been scratching my head at people's claims you can get to downtown in 30 from most of Arlington. Never been true for me during rush hour.

Take the metro dog.

I work at State, 23rd and C, behind the Lincoln Memorial. I live in Del Ray - 3 blocks from St Elmos- and I get to work in 17 minutes most mornings.

Ok but OP says K st which is a totally different commute. Plus you are stuck in your car and have to pay for parking.

"Stuck in your car"? What does that even mean? And parking is onsite and free.

There is not a person on this planet that would choose a 40 minute commute via walking, bus, and rail over of 17 minutes in a private car.

Of course there are. There are many people who chose to minimize car use or who are car free. And your scenario (office with free parking on the very edge of the city) isn’t the norm.

100% false

True, nobody at all metros from Arlington to DC 🤡

You're missing the point. If there is a choice, people will always choose a car

No they don’t. Do you think nobody riding metro has a car?

WTF are you talking about? It's literally in the city, right next to the mall. It's not on the edge of anything

Have you … looked at a map?

Yeah, I live 6 blocks away. It's in the city. I guess that bothers you. Weird

It is literally the edge of the city, as in, a very short distance to Virginia and not requiring getting stuck in the downtown traffic.

I can get to K street in 30 minutes from my home in Ashton Heights Arlington via the orange line. Schools are good.

It’s not 17 minutes door to door. It just isn’t.

LOLOLOLOL. You realize DC is surrounded by Va and Md, right? So everything near the border is 'not in the city'?

Is lower Manhattan not New York City because it's across the river from New Jersey?

You are a clown.

Most people work further into DC, not right next to the mall. I probably drove past your office every day of my commute and was nowhere near mine.

7 am is very early. Sure you can have a reasonable commute at 7 am before traffic hits. But what of those of us who can't leave that early, because you know, we have children?! A 7 am commute is very different from an 8:15 am commute.
