So, despite being presented with incontrovertible data, you maintain that one can not get from Del Ray to DC in 16 minutes at 7:30 in the morning?

I don’t think you can get from there that quickly every day, no.

Well, prove Google wrong, genius.

Google says 30 minutes from Del Ray to my office (not including parking time).

If your office is at 23rd and C, you are a liar.

I don’t think the question is if your office is literally the closest possible to Virginia

We lived in Arlington for years for the schools and moved into the city as empty nesters. It was a great place to live and we were happy with the schools. Zero regrets.

Except for the commute. We weren't walk to metro and driving was bearable only if I hit the road before 7:30 and stayed late. Commuting to a 9 to 5 job would have been hellish. I realize we were better off than Fairfax and God forbid anywhere requiring 395 but I still hated it.

It's a given that if you get your a$$ in the car before 7:30 you can get to the State Department more quickly than if you left at the normal time, yes. But the State Department isn't really downtown DC and it's still not 16 minutes door to door.

and it's not where the OP asked about so it doesn't help them at all

Irrelevent. PP was correcting the false assumption that a 16 minute commute from Del Ray to State HQ was not possible. It's not only entirely possible, but if you play with the numbers yourself on Google you can clearly see it can be as brief as 14 minutes.

You are hilarious. OP asked this question: "Where can we go with good/excellent schools and be able to get in and out of downtown (let’s say K st) within 30 minutes max"

OP doesn't care about your commute to somewhere else entirely. Your response is entirely irrelevant. Your need to prove something about your own commute is just kind of strange.

Annnnnd out come the autistics. You do know conversations evolve right? Are you unable to read social cues too?

Facts are inconvenient aren't they. Start another thread if you want to brag about your super short commute to the edge of the district, or from north Alexandria to South Arlington, or whatever.

We have been very happy with the schools in Arlington, close to the orange line.

Now we can conclude that not only are you on the spectrum, but you are actually jealous. Your therapist would be proud of you! That is genuine emotion.

Do you want an award for Best Commuter? You seem to require a lot of validation.
