| Great use of AI! |
| We got in! Engineering! But waiting on top choice W&M. |
Congrats! But W&M has no engineering so what’s the major there Physics or Data Science? |
| The wait continues for W&M, UVA, UNC… |
Probably, all students start there undeclared. |
Truly surprised by this….perhaps they didn’t think he will accept… Does VT play the yield protection game? |
| DC had to withdraw. Good luck! |
| DS in for engineering. Fcps, 3.77 UW, 4.05 W, 1400 SAT. I’m actually surprised but he does have tons of very sincere sounding volunteer work through our church and spent a lot of time on the supplemental essays. He also has a lot of demonstrated interest in engineering through some of his EC’s. No clue. Kids with better stats got in |
| DS in for business. MCPS; 3.86 UW, TO, 8 APs - 4s&5s so far. Good ECs with leadership (volunteering, work, sports) and each of the VT supplementals had specific examples. |
| DD in for mechanical engineering. NOVA public, 4.0 UW, 1520 SAT, good ECs. We are all excited! |
Nope. This has been discussed ad nauseam in this forum. They state right on their website that they do NOT yield protect. They probably were inundated with other students with equally good or better stats. Yield Protection Virginia Tech does not participate in yield protection. https://www.vt.edu/admissions/undergraduate/counselor-corner.html |
| Congrats to the accepted students! |
| DC in for business. OOS. 3.4UW (no APs from prep private). Test optional. |
This. My high stats son was rejected from a safety (still a top 50 school). After all his applications were done, I looked back at his essays and the supplemental essays to that school were the worst. I like his main common app essay. But since he did his supplemental essays in the last minute, the quality varies quite a bit! |
