U.S. Congress is Investigating Youth Sports

Call me crazy, but Congress has many more important things to deal with than our dumb assess allowing ourselves to get robbed by youth sports leagues. Seriously, this is ridiculous.

Wasn't the county set up to run the rec program? We've diluted the travel pool and ruined the rec program due to non-profits who are all out to profit of the players and use the county resources.

Who cares about rec? Rec soccer sucks by design. Unqualified volunteer parent coaches, players who are not committed but just looking for some mediocre soccer experience. Why are they so much more important than the serious soccer programs?

So the thousands of Rec kids who just want to play with their friends or, their families can't afford travel should give up fields so the elite few can have them? This is exactly what is wrong with our country.

How about we build more fields

The non-profits are supposed to run the rec programs. They get all the permits for all the county fields. But then they make the rec kids play in a worn down park and make money off travel families by making them pay for turf fields. Hence a big reason why we have a big pay to play problem.

Do the rec revenues pay for the turf fields or do the travel revenues? I wonder…

Travel and recreation pay the same. You really think travel pays more?

And this is exactly why the adults need to address the issues outlined in the hearing and in years worth of grievances on every soccer forum in the country.

+1 Billion. The “non-profits” may as well be monopolies in many jurisdictions and are cashing in off of their control of county resources and the tax advantages that come with being a non-profit.

I guess Trump is not getting his cut? Having to pay Trump and Republicans will just make it more expensive.

Are they looking into practices of Loudoun Clubs?

They need to look at how selections to national ID centers are made. LOL. In other words, TDs and coaches need to be investigated.

I think travel players pay a lot more to the club than recreational players.
