Oh, definitely. The real question is how quickly they (or any other big sports program) would have taken decisive action if it had been an incredibly successful coach. |
I started a thread like that once. It didn't go over well. |
| I would love to see a pretty big team hire a football coach for, say, 650k a year. There would be no shortage of great coaches willing to take these jobs. |
Yes, he deserved to be fired. But this is hardly scandalous. Older wealthy man cheats and wife and with younger woman, she gets pregnant (as expected). Same story told over and over again. |
Omg the Fitz thing was a woke writer at the Daily. And a bitter transfer player who wasn’t any good. Stop it. The university paid him $112 million because they wrongfully terminated him and they found no wrongdoing. |
| Coach was arrested. |
Sorry you didn't make the team. |
Does this mean they will no longer charge private oos tuition for a factory, rust belt school? |
|
I don't care that he cheated on his wife. Its low class but common af.
Biggest head scratcher is not being set for life after getting paid 6 million. |
| Maybe the whole scheme was concocted by ND to take the heat off of its AD and football program. |

Dang - Michigan has a history of disgusting coaches
Matt Weiss was fired in 2023 as Michigan's co-offensive coordinator. From 2015 to 2023, Weiss allegedly gained access to the databases of more than 100 colleges and universities that were maintained by a third-party vendor, Keffer Development Services, and then downloaded personal information and medical data of more than 150,000 athletes, the indictment states. He then got access to the social media, email and cloud storage accounts of more than 2,000 athletes as well as more than 1,300 students or alumni from schools across the country, according to the indictment. 'Weiss primarily targeted female college athletes," the indictment said. "He researched and targeted these women based on their school affiliation, athletic history and physical characteristics. His goal was to obtain private photographs and videos never intended to be shared beyond intimate partners." Weiss kept notes on photos and videos that he downloaded, commenting on the bodies and sexual preferences and sometimes returning years later to look for new images, the indictment said. |
No, they just couldn't prove he condoned or directed it. But they did show it occurred and if a head coach isn't aware of years and years of abuse in his locker room, then he deserves to be fired for being completely incompetent anyway. |
He was caught cheating; on his wife OMFG !!!! |
That's not an unusual salary at all. In almost every state, the highest paid state employee is the head football or basketball coach of the flagship university. |
| The University of Michigan is now a synonym for cheating. |
