For football Michigan has the same cache as notre dame, Ohio state, Alabama, and usc. Some kids have always dreams about playing in the big house. Hopefully they get to go elsewhere.

I sort of figure that a third to half of the people playing football at a serious level are sociopaths. Anyone who looks to football players for any moral leadership are highly likely to be disappointed.
I don’t see how this affects the academics of a school.

I read on Twitter (so of course it must be true) that he had Plan B pills delivered via Uber Eats, which is where the tip off came from. If so, let's just say he's not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.

This is a college/university forum and this is breaking news at a big flagship university. This isn’t a strictly academic forum. Lots of people post here to ask for practical advice in general or about certain aspects of a particular school. It’s perfectly appropriate for this thread to be posted here.

They are holding him in custody for assault, pending charges. I doubt he will held much longer for this alleged assault/threats.

4 years ago the PRESIDENT of U of Mich was fired due to an inappropriate relationship with a staffer. And the school survived. I think they will be able to handle losing a mediocre football coach.

Pretty sure large percentage of male professors and college sports coaches/affiliates are not faithful to their wives.

If he impregnated a 22 year old Michigan staffer, that’s an extreme power imbalance, and if he tried to coerce her to take Plan B and the school was informed, I can see why they felt the need to take action. Additionally, if he threatened to kill himself and the 22 year old upon being fired, it sounds like he’s not mentally stable. Who knows what other signs of mental instability there were.
