If it is a Spring sport it is entirely possible that they haven't updated the roster yet.

For a Spring Sport, the 25 roster was last year. For example, https://athletics.amherst.edu/sports/mens-lacrosse/roster

Yes, similar to what I noted (2025 roster posted with Spring 2025 data). This is the OP. It is not Amherst, next tier down.

Short answer here is no, a roster is whoever is on the team. Most likely the player quit or for whatever other reason is no longer part of that team.
