Varsity college athlete on LinkedIn but not on college roster

Please educate me on how a D3 college sophomore includes Varsity sport for 2025 on their LinkedIn but they are not listed on the college team roster for 2025. Are roster listings limited to the best performers?

Well -- it could be not true. It could be a former varsity athlete that quit. Or there could be 27 other possibilities. No one knows. Why do you care?

That shouldn’t be listed as a Varsity sport.

If the applicant isn’t on the roster they’re not being honest.

Are you considering this person for a job? If not, how is it your concern?

The kid’s parent is a well respected financial advisor and I’m wondering whether to trust them with a large family estate. Honesty matters to me.

Aren't honesty and large estates an oxymoron?

I doubt this is true. If it is you are stupid. Overdone background and not even on the person who would manage the money.

Can anyone give a helpful response, like “colleges limit to x number to appear on the roster” or something like that? Or I’ll just ask my niece who attends the same college. Thanks.
