Um, no this isn’t true. Most of my friends are democrats- liberals and tons of them gamble. It doesn’t go towards political party. It’s everyone on both sides of the isle |
| Sister's ex husband did. And it's why he is the ex. |

Yes. DH put in $250 years ago into whatever app and now does 0.25 bets etc, just for the fun of it but not using impactful money. I told him he could set a $50 monthly limit for example and I wouldn’t mind. I spend more than that on my hobbies each month. But he didn’t want to, thankfully.
Unfortunately, it’s a big thing with HS boys. DS uses some site that uses fake money that can be converted into real money when they turn 18. We talk often about the dangers and that he needs to set limits for himself, non negotiable, so it doesn’t get out of hand. In my mind, internet-based addictions are harder to kick than others because it is almost impossible to avoid. DH never ever talks about his own betting with kids present. We shall see but I hope we have put the fear into DS. |
| Yeah, I love these posts about husbands only making small bets, lol. That's not how gambling works! |
| I am a 48 year old mom and I am way into it. |
It's how not being addicted to gambling works. I'm a wife and I play in a fantasy league with a payout every year, and a spread league. I also used to bet $1 or $2 on specific events, but once I won $92 on a $2 bet I knew I would never top that so I stopped. I mean, buying a Powerball ticket is a "small bet" and millions of people do it. Of course that's how it works for a lot of people. |
This isn’t necessarily true. Capping is based on several metrics. If you carry a $20,000+ balance on your DraftKings account you could bet it all on an NFL moneyline. Serious gamblers spread their bets across several apps to minimize the risk of capped bets. No app wants to lose a bettor with tens of thousands of dollars in their bank that could be wagered with a click. |

What does this mean? That the husbands are being dishonest or something else? I pay all our bills and check bank statements etc. I would know if DH continuously added money to his account. |
Exactly. The wife is too stupid to tell the difference |
Wow this would be a problem for me |
| Umm hello it’s an addiction idiots |
+ 1 million Gambling is an addiction that can destroy lives and families. |

Apparently it is a societal problem, but just like the opioid crisis, I don't know anyone in my circle who is affected.

Yes, the husbands (or gambling wives) are professional liars. |
