Virginia Democratic AG Candidate Arrested in 2023 for Driving 116 MPH on I-64

Anonymous
I'm a conservative, usually reliable Republican voter, who's tired of the MAGA BS. If a Republican candidate doesn't repudiate Trump and distance him/herself from Trump rhetoric, they won't get my vote. Miyares fails that test, so I'm voting for Jones. In fact, I'm voting straight Democrat all the way doown the ballot.

It’s a speeding ticket FFS

Have you any idea of a speed of 120 mph? Have you ever driven that fast?

There is no survival possible for those in that car and any car that is unlucky enough to coexist with that speed.

It wasn’t 120mph.

Like I said, it’s a speeding ticket F F S.

OP is a POS.

It was more than a speeding ticket, it was reckless driving, which may be a felony in Virginia.

WHAT

This actually true? Also needs to go!

Hashmi is fine, right, only wants a Casino? I don’t want a casino, but that has to take a back seat.

Won’t vote for anyone who is not clean legally, that should be the most basic requirement.

So these are just allegations about Reid, of being “tied to” something along those lines. (He denies)

Jones’ speeding of nearly 120 mph in 2022 was actually convicted. And he admits “it was a mistake”. It’s on the news.

They are not running for the same position.

It definitely happened -- wasn't made up -- and I'll admit being taken aback by the speed. But here's where we are, right? It's not like we're now going to vote for Miyares. I hate that guy.

How about that stupid political ad when Miyares says "my mother's proudest moment was when she became a citizen of her new country, America." F____ You. She's Cuban. She already lived in America. America isn't a country. He's not conflating the two by accident. So sick of this nationalistic bullshit.

+1 Basic background investigations should be the minimum requirement for anyone running for any office or position. There are not enough decent law abiding people anymore anywhere!

I will admit that this is very serious and is a horrific lapse of judgement.

I do not know how the state party has had such awful vetting in recent years. This was very easily found. As was the mess with the Gov and LG several years back. It makes me mad that these politicians somehow think this isn’t going to come out/be found out.

That said, we have to have a D in that position or having D’s in the Gov and LG spots is essentially pointless.

As for the R LG story, there is no way this is a smear campaign if you look at the facts of that blog account.

And winsome - hot mess. Did everyone hear what happened at Tech the other day? She’s an embarrassment

Why? So 116 mph! You are kidding to point out 4 mph? The 4 mph make no difference in effects. No chance of survival for anyone in that car or any car near it. It was recent, too, 2022.

Serious lack of judgement, reckless, public endangerment. Great candidate.

How are they not doing a basic background check before they have people getting into a position for candidacy? Serious question!

“But it’s just a small lie”. Very telling that Republicans lie every single chance they get.

It’s a speeding ticket. He still has infinitely better judgment than any Republican in 2025.

Better judgment? There’s a 100% chance you’ll kill someone if you hit them going that fast.

And it’s not a speeding ticket, it’s reckless driving.

Irrespective of the maximum speeds permitted by law, any person who drives a vehicle on any highway recklessly or at a speed or in a manner so as to endanger the life, limb, or property of any person shall be guilty of reckless driving.

Yes, someone speeding on a fast highway (70mph speed limit) shows better judgment than anyone who supports Trump and his whole web of lies and corruption.

Even if it was reckless driving it's a Class 1 misdemeanor.
