Why doesn't Israel just forget about those hostages, and get comfortable with the idea that a Hamas which is allowed to survive will be a resurgent Hamas from which only future terror can be expected? Not at all. Hamas' stated objective from its beginning has been genocide. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, at least to the extent of obliterating Hamas, their would-be victims are suddenly the ones "committing genocide". What patent nonsense.

Of course. They suffered no attacks from Palestinians in 1947 or in the decades which followed all the way to Oct 7 and even thereafter.
