Did you blame Pence for Trump's loss to a very weak opponent in 2020, moron?

So many dumb people in this country. Of course they wouldn't vote for an educated woman.

Pretty sure those "dumb" swing voters were casting a vote against Biden in 2024 just as those same swing voters were voting against Trump in 2020. This is how the worst two presidents in American history serve back to back. They were only capable of winning in 2020 & 2024 due to there being an extraordinarily unpopular sitting POTUS eliminating the incumbent party's chances.

Pretty rich she is complaining of the short campaign when that actually helped her. A real campaign would have exposed how much of an utter buffoon and talentless politician she really is.

I’m not happy she’s throwing Biden under the bus. I’ve been backstabbed at work and it feels terrible.

Plus it makes her look kind of weak, like she couldn’t say anything while VP (which may have been politically savvy) but says something now. That does not bode well if she plans to run in ‘28 and wants to present herself as a strong leader.

I’m beginning to think that this book means she’s not planning to run in ‘28. Happy to entertain other ideas, however.

The Atlantic article features the beginning portion of the book. I’m typically not one for politician books but I think there is meaningful stuff in here. Biden staying or leaving the race was entirely “Jill and Joe’s decision” and it was up to them. She specifically seems to go after Joe Biden’s comms team.

I do sympathize with Harris as I think she could have possibly had another 10 to 15 years of service in national politics if not for her career being tanked by her association with Biden. Then again, it was her decision to accept the offer of VP from someone who would be 78 years old at the start of a first term. She is now suffering the same fate as Pence and Vance with her political career being ended by an association with a very unpopular president.

According the Fight by by Amie Parnes and Jonathan Allen, Harris was forced on Biden by Jim clyburn. Biden tried to find another candidate but couldn’t find one that satisfied Clyburn.

Harris was the only one who could cleanly and easily take over the $90 million that the Biden-Harris campaign already had in the bank, plus there wasn’t time for any kind of mini primary. That’s why she was the candidate.

Serious question - why did they say “Biden-Harris administration” rather than just “Biden administration?”

+1 disgusted she is selling out and disrespecting the man who chose her to be his VP. She just lost my vote and my support. What a fake.

Never good to speak ill of your former employer.

Just like Pence and Vance, her political career is over due to her forever association with a very unpopular president.

She's being humble. Biden lost the 2024 race. She never had a chance of victory due to the circumstances behind her nomination and her close ties to Biden.

I agree with this but she also benefitted by not having to compete in an actual primary.

She’s pointing fingers at Joe Biden’s staff who were not her employers.

You and I and the rest of the American people were her employers.

My guess is some advisor told her this was a great way to distance herself from Biden, and that she had to so distance if she stands a chance in 2028. The problem is that it appears disloyal and weak, plus it’s going to oiss off too many people in the party. She’s done, which is probably good because she can’t win at this point (and I voted for her).

She wrote a book and she wants people to buy it. Who would buy it if she said it was all peachy keen and there was no controversy.

Personally I’m over her and moved on. I couldn’t care less if she has grievances. Guess what? I have grievances too about how we ended up with Trump

True, but the Dems haven't had a legitimately competitive primary since 2008. In that competitive 2008 primary a guy by the name of Biden got absolutely crushed by two legitimate presidential contenders. This was when Biden was in his mid 60s and gave an appearance of fitness and coherence. Amazing how we were duped into thinking that guy who was such a weak candidate when he was in his prime could somehow do us any good at 80 years old.
