DP. Wood is carbohydrates, cellulose. Burning or natural decay breaks down those hydrocarbons into water and CO2. The only weigh to sequester carbon in wood, would be to bury the wood in an oxygen free environment, dump it in the deep ocean. https://www.science.org/content/article/burying-wood-vaults-could-help-fight-global-warming |
Yes, it's just the speed of conversion to CO2. Carbon neutral https://www.mprnews.org/story/2019/11/09/climate-curious-is-burning-wood-for-heat-carbon-neutral |

I don’t like my neighbors voice. They’re a loud talker and extreme extrovert who uses speakerphone in the backyard. It’s not loud enough for a noise complaint. Def noise pollution to me 😂 I sit out front instead. I can still hear her, it’s quieter though.
Not really that different. Grow up and gain some resiliency. If we were all burning trash daily it your complaint would make more sense. If you live in a community sometimes you have to deal with the actions of others. |
You can. You just choose to be a pain in the ass. |
No matter the temp, it’s wrong to have a backyard fire. Or indoor for that matter. The carbon footprint is huge! Plus, you can find videos of fires for your giant-screen TV for free. Why not? |
It's carbon neutral unless you have a coal fire. |
| It's cozy and there is something calming about the crackle of wood. We only have a fire pit fire a few times a year. |
Because we like the smell and the warmth and the light coming off of the real fire. You can't be this dumb. |
|
It's a lack of consideration for your neighbors and neighborhood. Pure selfishness.
The people supporting this in this thread are irrevocable narcissists and should think about their lives carefully. |
Time to take your meds, grandma. |
| We have a gas fireplace and a fire pit. We use the fire pit maybe three times a year. We burn fallen branches from our trees and roast marshmallows. Our neighbor smoke cigarettes outside every single day. We have to close our windows. I haven’t posted about that. |
You would be happy to know that I am probably 1/4 your age, grandma. |
Thanks. This is a good example. What would the morons posting in this thread say if it wasn't about wood smoke, but about a constant backyard smoker? Is that still "OK"? |
Go change your diaper then. You smell. |
Fire is older than humanity itself. You can’t stop people from being human. |
