Why must people burn wood???

Anonymous
I love to cook on my charcoal grills and everything I cook is smoked. I never even use my oven and it's year round. I'm happy to let my neighbors enjoy that smoky aroma but I'm not feeding them unless I have a party. Then I'll fore up three or four grills and really get smoking.

It has high amounts of fine particulate, not very good for anyone to breathe (and of course not good for the environment). There are several US cities that have banned fire pits etc I’ve noticed a trend on social media of health influencers warning against using scented candles, I wonder how many of them still sit around fire pits.

Thank you…fire and smoke lovers, inhale smoke all you like but I wish you wouldn’t force everyone around to inhale your smoke and pollute the environment for some cute cozy feelings. Put up one of those TV video fires or get a gas fireplace (still not great but at least it’s not smoky) and call it a day. (Yeah I know no one will change, but needed a vent after I just had to close all my windows from the smoke coming in. It’s not even cold!!!)

Close your windows and STFU.

100% This. What a joyless life these haters must live.

It is not a “smell.” It is the stench of the climate crisis which you and your MAGA buddies insist on furthering.

Yeah, no. That's not how the carbon cycle works.

I will so, though, as someone who grew up in New England in a house heated almost exclusively by wood stove, if you burn wood, you have the responsibility to do so as cleanly as possible. Some people just have no clue about how to make a good fire and to use good seasoned wood. The difference between a hot, clean fire and a smoky mess is stark.

I don't. I hate it and your behavior is reckless. But I'm a kind person and won't tell you.

you are just a passive-aggressive idiot

What makes the neighbors think they have the right to put you through this with their stupid wood-burning?

It's the other way around, why does the minority get to dictate what the majority does?

You didn’t get the memo? Even though the Democrats lost the last election, they still think they are in charge & get to decide how things are run. They want a democracy unless they lose.

+1
Wood smoke is one of the best parts of fall/winter. Love it.

I LOVE the smell of burning wood as I’m walking the dog on a cool, fall night. In fact I saw someone who had their fire pit going tonight and I so wanted to hop into their yard to join them. It’s a wonderful, cozy smell and it makes me happy as the evenings turn cooler.

Same. Something about the smell of a wood fire in the Fall gives me a warm sense of nostalgia/fond memories of fun times and holidays with friends and family.

I too have asthma and I use my charcoal grill at least 2xs a week year round and break out our solo stove at least once a week when the weather gets cold. I have never had an asthma attack becasue of it. Are you hodlign your head over the grill and taking in deep breaths? I suggest you stop doing that.

There’s nothing like the smell of climate change and hate.
