Spinoff-ish - How much have you spent in 2025 at Disney?

Anonymous
We spent $30k one year but we also have 5 kids. Flew everyone in first class from Bucharest (direct flight), stayed at the Grand Floridian, all meals at the higher tier restaurants, lightening passes, also went to Universal one day.

We went for after Christmas last year so it was a time frame when any vacation would have been very expensive.

Flights were a couple hounded dollars with SW free companion passes for kids
3 nights deluxe hotel two rooms 4500
VIP tour one day 6K
2 days park hopper tickets for 5 — 2K
Hollywood nights for 5 after hour limited tickets and Mickey’s holiday party after hours limited entry tickets for 5 1K
Universal one day tickets multipack tickets for 5 1K
One night at universal hotel but can’t remember how much we spent — let’s say 1K for two rooms.
So that’s 15K or 16K for the week but it was really nice and we waited in no lines and saw everything. I don’t think the 5 of us could have flown to Caribbean and stayed in a nice resort with two rooms for that price over Xmas week and most places in Europe also would have been tough for that price given 5 tickets and a desire to at least get premium economy for a red eye flight.
I’m sure I will get a ton of hate for spending that much on disney but that’s what my teens really wanted to do and it was a nice break after Xmas and before school started up again. None of my kids get longs breaks so taking a 7+ hour flight someplace for a 6 day trip is not appealing.

Oh I forgot to add $80 on lightening lanes for 5 of us.

I’ve been to Rome twice. Is it your first time? Do you think people who go to Disney aren’t also well traveled?

Different poster, but I think it’s a reasonable assumption that a majority of Americans who go to Disney have never left North America

I'm well-traveled but also love Disney. To each their own. The NYT article was interesting, and accurate. When we go to Disney World we stay deluxe, do the passes to by-pass lines, and don't really worry about budget because we can afford it. We're going this fall and I think the trip will be about $6K. I don't know how a middle-class family can afford Disney World now. I grew up on the other coast in a solidly middle-class family and went to Disneyland at least annually. It was a different time - you just bought tickets when you arrived and stood in line for rides. There weren't "enchanting extras" or fancy dining.

$6k sounds very low. How many people and how many days?

Zero
And good grief what is wrong with you people?

I won’t do WDW because I wont spend money in FL.

I spent about $4,000 for six of us to go to Disneyland for four days— we took advantage of the $50.00 children’s tickets, and booked well in advance so our flights were about $175/pp for those without miles.

We’re planning to visit Disney properties in Japan next year, if thats a useful datapoint for the people who believe Disney travelers do nothing else…

You realize that money eventually finds its way to Florida, right?

That’s so weird - Disney used its money to stand up to DeSantis, so because you hate DeSantis, you won’t support his enemy. Okay.

I know Disney only does why is good for business - they are ruthless. But still.

I support Disney— in California. Do you think that doesn't support the fight against DeSantis?

I don't have to prop up Floridas government to take my kids to Disney.

Not as taxes, and the restaurants, lyft drivers, hotels housekeepers, etc. who get my money are in a blue state.

So, a pittance stays there. But whatever you tell yourself to justify your illogical actions. You love the mouse but want to pretend you don’t support it.

SHUT UP AND JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION. Instead of making yourselves seem superior, you just make yourselves sound like a-holes. This is not the question. Nobody cares.

I don't remember exactly what we spent for tickets but we did six days and used a promotion around christmas time where adults paid kids prices. it probably ended up around $100/day for park tickets. we split a bigger suite room with another family. we bought discounted gift cards from sams club. spent about $200 on grocery delivery and typically had one dinner a day, often sharing plates. drove one way and took auto train one way - they had a sale for $39 tickets +car.

Did you read? I went to Disneyland. I have no pretense to not enjoy Disney. I won’t do WDW because I don’t support Florida. Luckily Disney is available elsewhere.

For Disney World we typically spend $3 grand for a week.

I June we were at Disneyland for 5 nights and spent $2,500
