I guess I’ll start looking at single sex private schools for high school. I thought we realized that very few people want this, and it’s unfair to women.

I am not the PP, but this type of response is why the MAGA types keep winning elections. There needs to be space under the Democratic tent for those of us who feel that trans men competing in women’s sports is deeply unfair to female athletes. It’s not a clear cut issue by any stretch of the imagination. Just look at what happened with Lia Thomas at UPenn three years ago and how that impacted top women swimmers who had dedicated their life to their sport.

If you want tolerance of viewpoints then you need to look towards the Republican side, you will NEVER find it with democrats, they shut down every opinion they don’t agree with.

You're hilarious. Explain how Maga is tolerant please.

NP They aren’t tolerant, but they don’t immediately throw someone out completely If they have divergent views. They will take what they agree with and ignore the rest because it ultimately serves their goal. The Democrats could learn from that.

Republicans don’t have scruples. That’s for sure. They’d do anything to win.

And that is how you enact change: by winning.

For what it’s worth we have several children who are trans at my school and they’re welcome to use the adult single bathroom if they choose (that has its own issues, but it’s not a big deal, generally none of them take the offer)

What do you think is going to happen to your daughter if there are trans girls using the same bathroom as her? And why is it an issue just for your daughter? There are trans boys, too. Why isn't anyone concerned about biologically female children using the same bathroom as boys? I've NEVER seen that come up as an issue. It's always about trans girls.

Agree. It's absurd that the Trump administration and chosen this teeny tiny bone to pick and turned it into a huge issue. It's a handful of children in every school, why are they spending hundreds of millions of dollars on this that could go to healthcare or fighting poverty?

I think she’s going to be exposed to male body parts at an unacceptably young age.

Why are women always the target? We worked so hard for women’s rights and now women are being told we’re bigots because we want to protect our daughters and have equity for our daughters?

It’s so easy for Dems to label/name call: homophobic, transphobic…which no one wants to be titled just for expressing a deeply held fear of their daughters having their hard work and safety compromised by biological men

Because APS apparently can’t seem to follow the law.

I’m not worried about trans girls I’m worried about boys and men pretending to be trans to gain access to these spaces. The comments mentioning the very recent and real incident in Arlington, and the one in Loudon from a few years ago keep getting removed.

Yes, look at the way Muslim and Christian parents came together in that lawsuit against Montgomery county schools

And progressive democrat Mink all called them white supremacist.

The republican party welcomes everyone; democrats have purity contests.

I think I hold a pretty common view, which is that I don’t think trans people should be discriminated against in the workplace, trans Children should be offered the opportunity to use single bathrooms, and changing rooms. In Arlington or among many liberals that doesn’t go far enough.

There was a case in Loudoun last year where boys in a high school because they said out loud that they objected to a girl in the boys locker room.

I hope Democrats don't give in to the bigots. They will lose even more voters that way.

Why do you believe we are ashamed of supporting women’s and girls rights? That is not hateful, it’s following the law and fair.

You're ashamed of being anti trans. The schools ARE following the law. Trump Admin is not. I'm confident this will be litigated.

Says who? I am proudly team TERF and will not abide by the rights of women and girls being violated, and I am happy to fight for it.

You are a disgusting bigot. Go F yourself.

Please post your name so we can see how hateful you are towards women, and how much you despise young women in particular. Thanks!

Yup. Pedophiles, rapists, bigots, people who assault LEO, David Duke, etc. All of the best, very fine people.

Candidly, because trans boys are rarely a threat. There are not female predators pretending to be trans in order to hurt boys. But there are male predators pretending to be trans to hurt girls.
