That makes more sense. The incident(s) and arrest happened two weeks ago. The arrest was reported on only last week. I believe in due process and a speedy trial, but for the case to be disposed of already would seem somewhat improbable.

Incorrect. The publicly available documentation right now is simply the warrant information. That is 'disposed' because the warrant was executed and is no longer needed (because the suspect was arrested and charged). The post-arrest legal process is just now beginning.

Right. That’s why I was said it was unlikely that the case has already been disposed, only the warrant. We’re saying the same thing.

The case report is disgusting. I highly recommend reading it. This man has been abusing children for years. According to the report, the youngest victim was a 5 year old girl. He kissed her on the vagina. A child reported it in 2023 but our system failed them. Since then, he abused a 7 year old girl (digitally penetrated her and tried to get her to touch his penis) and a 9 year old boy (rubbed his penis).

If your child was ever alone with Thomas Mahony, please talk with them to make sure they weren't abused.

They were his children's friends. Horrifying. No doubt he also assaulted kids at the summer swim team practices & meets. Hope these kids are brave enough to come forward.

They were actually apartment neighbors. He would offer to play with them and watch them to help out the other parents.

My daughter was very briefly on MVP dolphins at age 7. The scheduling and overall swim culture didn’t work for our family. I just searched my email and he photographed her swimming. Thankfully she was never out of my sight. God this makes me sick for the families affected. It’s starting to seem impossible to keep our children out of the gaze of predators.

Also from the case files, Thomas is not American. He is an Australian citizen who is an economist at the World Bank. He also used to be a diplomat at the Australian Embassy. I wonder if the Australians and/or World Bank have been made aware of his arrest and charges?

Thomas Mahony isn’t going with a free public defender to counsel him. He hired one of the top rated criminal defense attorneys in DC. It appears that Thomas is going to try to fight these charges.
