My understanding is that he hadn't been active at Eaton recently because of the restraining order associated with the old previously unprosecuted case.

He was HSA treasurer while the restraining order was in place. However, to give the school the benefit of the doubt, how could the school possibly know about the restraining order unless the school was notified?

The other HSA board members knew about it (the restraining order), but didn’t know why. I’m actually amazed that there wasn’t more gossip/chatter.

Who informed the other HSA members? Presumably, either the school or the police…

And this is why the school hasn’t made a statement. Someone (multiple people?) clearly messed up by allowing someone with a restraining order for sexual abuse of a minor to continue in-school volunteering, and there’s probably not much they can say at this point that won’t implicate them from a legal perspective.

The restraining order was still active? Or had it expired?

He complied and his wife took photos, then what changed?

He had a restraining order and was allowed to be at Stone Ridge’s school campus almost everyday for ASA practice? Not saying ASA is to blame for allowing him to be on campus. ASA had no way of knowing he had a restraining order.

This is exactly the point. The HSA is complicit in this.

How do Eaton parents know about the restraining order? I wish the school informed us. Was this in the Washington Post article?

Untrue, Eaton is the opposite of toxic.
Whoever posted this is clearly not or ever has been part of Eaton. Mahoney was always "Thomas" never "Tom". You don't know what you're talking about.

Its very cliquey at Eaton just like every other ps in the entitled areas of DC. A Handful of privileged parents dominate the communication channels and volunteer for everything so within their bubble they think things are great, I'm sure, as they are popular in their social group and in on the gossip. I found out about this thread from another parent and I didn't know about any of this. I'm on every WhatsApp and email group that's been shared to me, there's like 20 of them, and I never saw any of the chats that someone said were happening. It's actually a little suspicious how defensive some of these comments are, like an admin is pretending to be a parent or maybe no one wants to talk about how they were friends with a pedo

You bring up an important point: “a handful of privileged parents volunteer for everything”. Why is that? It is because the majority of the community thinks their time is too valuable for voluteer work. This is particularly true among Dads. An inordinate number of volunteers are always moms rather than dads and when dads do volunteer, they want important jobs like LSAT chair or HSA president.

OR because according to DCUM, men should not be in any role that involves being around children.

93% of pedophiles are men. Seems like a reasonable call.

And 95-99% of men are NOT pedophiles.

Most Eaton parents other than the few on here who know a lot but only want to be defensive, and apparently the hsa for at least a year, are unaware of this situation in my conversations

There are plenty of people who don’t get dogs because they are afraid of them and we all accept that. Most women have been sexually assaulted in some way in their life. 1 in 6 have been raped or the victim of an attempted rape but we’re supposed to just treat every man like he’s probably nice.
