As someone who was a long time expat in several countries I am a bit intrigued by a bunch of the responses. There's definitely, unquestionably, elements of wishful thinking combined with grass is greener on the other side of the fence mentality going on here, along with strong political blinders.
My own two are: 1. Lack of an European style mass transit network. Love being able to hop on trains feeding into regional trains feeding into local transits to get to most places. Switzerland is amazing in this regard. 2. While doesn't affect me directly, cost of higher education is clearly an issue for the country, so will let this be the number 2. |
