No, trans kids are under attack from autocracy. Stay on message. Halt the autocracy, and you WILL protect trans kids (and women and science and minorities...)

I saw a great one which was a hand drawn uterus with an elephant inside… below it said, time to get the elephants out of the womb.

As the parent of a trans kid, I have to agree. Some of you don’t realize you’re weaponizing our children. Fix the overarching issues and it will help protect our children. If this was a pride March, it would be a completely different story.

If so, i suggest writing “Happy Birthday” and then wearing a shirt or something else with your message. Anything else is too wordy and just going to blend.

I’m not a fan of protests in general and think they just noise and most people don’t pay attention to signs.

OP here My purpose is to be heard, but also understood. I am the poster who said I'm going to use The price of eggs are high because we have a bunch of chickens in Congress. I'm so concerned about the complete lack of checks and balances.

A 500 word essay on each side of your sign should do it them. Double space, 12 point font.

POC, LGBTQ, education, health, etc, will all benefit from a shutdown of the burgeoning autocracy. So stick to that.

It’s a big tent; maybe don’t gatekeep.

Do something different. Have a message that communicates something critical to media, cameras, passersby, and audience seeing your sign online.

Make a sign that says who you are. A dad. A Republican. A neighbor. A farmer. A teenager. A SS recipient. An immigrant. A wasp.

And then write what worries or angers you.
Stealing our rights. Stomping on our freedoms. Threatening citizens. Taking away our dignity.

I would push authoritarian and brutality angle since it’s universally disliked.

Thank you for responding to my post and answering. I’ve found a lot more people are responding lately.

I’ve been trying to engage in conversations rather than one line slogans and insults- they don’t work. We will never convince anyone of anything that way. As I said, this is why I will never attend a protest and tune most out. The anger and yelling has the opposite effect on me and I find most of it childish.

This isn’t what you want but I’m more likely to talk to you with something like “it’s time to have a conversation” than any one liner or insult about Trump.

I voted for Trump. I don’t like him and think he’s awful in so many ways. I didn’t like the alternative. I would always like to have a discussion and I share your concerns about checks and balances in our current government.

How about:

More science, good government and education.

Less ignorance, retaliation and chaos.

If you want to have conversations, go to the rally this weekend. They haven’t been angry at all. You’re projecting. I’ve gone with friends and solo and every time I’ve struck up conversations.

You can also walk through the crowd and look at the signs and ask people questions. I’d be happy to talk to any Trump voter who asked about my sign or struck up a conversation.

Maybe this weekend you could be curious about your narrative that protests are “childish.” Why do you think that? Is that correct? Why or why not? They’ve actually been an important part of resistance history, if you care to look deeper. It’s a fundamental right of ours as Americans.

Anyway, you’re welcome to come out this weekend if you change your mind.
