That’s laughable you think people on both sides are minions.

Your scare tactics don’t work. We know ya’ll scared that the failed wannabe king is losing bigly. TACO TACO man, he’s got small hands!

I haven’t read most of the responses and have not bothered googling and don’t care to. But I want to tell you that I have no idea what the small hands reference is talking about. I’ve seen a couple of you saying it and feel like the taco and small hands is some inside joke at a party that I’m not part of.

It's from a Graydon Carter article from like 30 years ago where he called Trump a "short fingered vulgarian." Trump was very offended and would periodically send him pics with his hands circled when he thought he had a flattering shot of them looking large and where his fingers didn't look short and fat. Seriously.

Every special interest group weakens the message, and makes it easier to dismiss the left, because the reader doesn't know any trans people, or immigrants, or whatever. Autocracy is causing all these problems. Address the root problem.

I agree with this but not for the reasons you state. I think it’s simply that we need to stay on message. This is about immigration not everything else. Liberals get very caught up in trying to make intersectionality happen and it just turns people off - including me, a lifelong Dem.

I disagree, in that this is not about immigration. It’s about “no kings”

Agree, the message should be consistent and damaging. Immigration is what Trump campaigned on. It’s all out there now for everyone to see. No Kings is fine, but weak as the protests increase in size. Time to state the hard facts. As short as possible.

This is my sign front and back.

If you make it about immigration, you are undermining your position. Immigration is a complex issue that people of good will can legitimately disagree about. In a normal presidency (either R or D), people might be writing letters and editorials, but any protests would be relatively small.

The problem is that when Trump says he is deporting illegal immigrants, he is being deliberately misleading. Deporting someone implies you’re putting them on a bus or plane out of the country to go and make the best life they can, somewhere else. Illegal immigrants doesn’t mean you make them illegal by revoking their legal permission to be here, and it certainly doesn’t mean revoking the citizenship (contrary to the Constitution) of someone who was born here. What Trump is doing is condemning thousands of people to life sentences in foreign prisons/concentration camps, known for their cruel and unusual punishments, without any kind of due process, much less an actual trial. This isn’t deporting immigrants, it’s human trafficking according to the President’s whims.

When you say it’s about immigration, you are automatically legitimizing President’s propaganda that this is about immigration. If that were what was actually happening, then it would be logical to promote your immigration position, but the last election suggests that might be a losing argument, with much of the country considering illegal immigration to be a problem. Since that’s not what’s happening, why don’t we deal with the actual problem as it is, instead of following Trump’s script? I think most Americans (even those who oppose illegal immigration) have a problem with the idea of a President treating the law and the Constitution as petty inconveniences that don’t really apply to him.
