According to someone I know, Vietnamese family came here decades ago and are all citizens, they are grabbing Vietnamese who have been here decades but kept green cards so they could retire back home.

You understand that a lot of people who are out of legal status came here legally, and then fell out of status for any number of reasons. I’m a lawyer who doesn’t handle immigration work and have in the past tried informally to assist a friend with an immigration issue and it was very challenging. The system is complicated and it is incredibly easy to miss a form or get your paperwork wrong etc. They’ve been scooping up people arriving at immigration court who are there for the very purpose of getting their status issues corrected. I don’t think that’s right.

Meanwhile, I have yet to see a single business owner arrested and charged for hiring undocumented labor. Not one. And you’d better believe Tyson Foods, Smithfield, JBS etc all run on exploited undocumented labor (including child labor.)

ICE has picked up multiple people who were in the process of following the rules though. And do you really know which people who came here seeking asylum—legally— were treated appropriately for their status? I sure don’t.

lol you can't be "in the process" of following the rules, that means You ARE NOT following the rules.

Saying someone is "in the process" of following the rules kind of misses the point—if you're not following the rules yet, then you're not actually following them. It's like saying someone was in the process of obeying the speed limit by slowing down after they were already speeding. Or that someone was following the law by taking a victim to the hospital after committing a crime. That's just not how it works. If the law was broken, then there are consequences.
