You leftist Dems have made politics your religion.
And unlike the formerly liberal openness that Democrats once espoused, this new leftist religion it’s not a religion that is very tolerant of other religions.
Somehow you’ve decided that unless your neighbor (or in this case, your DH’s friends of 20+ years) shares your religion of Democrat-ness, they are not worth your kindness and are deserving of hate.

Please try to do better.

I dislike maga too but this is true.

Think back to 2021-2022, there were plenty of people whose livelihoods had been threatened or hurt by Covid policies that were typically supported by Ds. What would you have thought if you wanted to visit a friend who is a travel agent, and she told you no because of the policies you support? Because that’s what you’re doing.

You’re also proving their point. You’re entitled. you’re still employed!!!

The thing that’s crazy about this post and many of theMAGA followers is they make up a story in their head that’s based completely in zero facts and they state it like it’s truth. One reason I don’t want.MAGA in my house is because it’s like talking to a mental patient who lives in some dissociative state.

The policies you’re talking about happening in 2020 while Trump was president. Also the rules about what should be closed on what should be open did not fall down Democratic vs Republican lines especially with the school closers most Democrats wanted schools open. And a huge group of Republicans did not want it open because most of them have terrible healthcare and had pre- existing conditions and we’re dying at higher rates than Democrats.. besides Republicans love to sit home and collect an unemployment check

Also travel agent got PPP loans which kept them in business and I would be fine with feds being fired as long as you gave them PPP loans until they found another job.

Also inviting a mega over to your house when you’re losing your job as a fat is like inviting your racist grandmother over when you have a black child.

It’s not a religion, honey it’s morals. Most religious people don’t understand morals.

I mean my MAGA aunt is also super racist. She'll say stuff I absolutely don't want my kindergartener to hear. So no, she's not welcome around me or my kid.

This^^^

This is nothing new for people with morals. We’ve been having to not invite relatives and explain them away to our children for decades..

Yeah, no. Not the same. Covid policies, however misguided some of them might seem in hindsight, were in place to try to save lives in an unprecedented situation. And if a travel agent had said no, I would have respected that, gotten an hotel room, and realized that she must be in a pretty dire situation herself.

What’s happening to feds is not to save anything, it’s purely to sow chaos. No one needs to invite anyone into their home who’s cheering on their own demise.

Your response is fascinating. Plenty of MAGAs think the Covid response was pointless and it to save lives. Plenty of MAGA think that the changes in government are necessary and not for chaos (despite what ONE government official is quoted as saying). It’s actually a very similar type of event.

My take is that many government workers haven’t experienced true hardship, especially when it comes to employment and the economy. Even the chance of losing one’s job is traumatic and they are unequipped to deal with it. Hence the reaction that someone who supports a different political party can’t stay at their home.

Of course MAGA thinks these things. That’s what their cult leader is telling them to distract them from their incompetence and corruption. Doesn’t make them correct.

And your take on feds is not unexpected. You don’t really care about what any of them actually do in their jobs, you just want them to feel pain. That’s a sign of someone who has felt great pain themselves. I’m sorry someone or something hurt you.

Grown adults should stay in a hotel. They aren't college students who can't afford it.

I have a low tolerance for being around stupid people very long and MAGA types are idiots running the country into the ground and making the USA a laughing stock and has-been nation.

So, no, do not host these cretins.

The projection here is insane. MAGA literally has matching red hats and a snake oil salesman preacher who rants for hours about the scum on the other side. Read up on the tactics of cults. It will sound familiar.

I find it funny when the US Govt of mainly Democrats under Obama fired and stole from millions of people in 2008/2009 crisis they created in first place that I as a Republican did not hold it against them nor did most Republicans. You guys shut down or forced mass layoffs at fired millions of peoples companies like Bear Sterns, Fannie, Freddie, Washington Mutual, Merril Lynch, Lehman and felt fine about it. Well if you can’t take the heat get out of the Kitchen. It’s your turn. Don’t hold grudges it’s nothing personal. Isn’t that what you told the millions you fired in 2008

This is why we can't talk to MAGA types. Sure, the 2008 crash was Obama's fault.

Who was president in 2008 again?

Why do Feds think they are immune to realities everybody else faces?

It's life. You aren't getting sympathy by lashing out and having a fit.

Just tell them that you are not running an Airbnb. Suggest some hotels.

Are they openly insulting you in your home and screaming maga? If not then it's fine. You are overthinking it I am sure they would host you a govt employee.

Bush was the president when the mortgage loan grifting/stock market shorting occurred.

Agree. This isn’t about politics now. It’s about morals. No, don’t host them.
