You’re responding to different posters. Nobody believes your anecdotes and you haven’t presented any data specifically about OOS averages. Why don’t you STFU? |
+2 and OP seems like she has a kid at one of these schools and isn’t getting enough “oooh wow!” responses when she tells people that. |
You are the problem. |
Most people outside this narrow forum are more willing to talk about the flagships’ football teams than the admissions wow factor. No one cares. They’re all good schools and have great outcomes. Give it a rest. |
These Big Ten schools are huge. They have large departments so it really depends. But in general for schools like Michigan, Ohio State, MSU, Indiana, Penn State the top 10 or 15 percent will be able to get into their home state flagship.
That hasn't changed for 40 years. |
Top 10-15% is elite. |
I was responding to the poster I quoted. Data has been posted by others. And you, my friend, lose credibility when you swear. You're nothing but a troll at this point. |
If you have a neurotypical kid in the DC area, I'd say there's nothing special about getting over 1400 or 1500. I would never do well on the test because I can't pay attention to it. Too boring. lol |
Agree. Swearing is weak. |
Lol, you live in a bubble. Where do you think the 1s on AP tests come from? I can assure you there's a full range of grades from A to C in parts of America that are much different from DMV. |
You didn’t post OOS data and you rely on anecdotes so you’re the one without any credibility. You must not be used to being held accountable when you unsuccessfully try to bullshit. |
Those are also for 2024. This year got much harder for OOs b/g UGA increased its target enrollment for in-state students while OOS applications increased significantly. |
AT UGA 47,860 applicants there were over 15,800 admits. A total increase of 12 percent total apps from last year. That's really not that big of an increase. Others schools saw much bigger increases. |
Shut up lol you’re embarrassing yourself. UGA’s apps are up and stats are higher than you want to admit and now you’re pivoting to a pathetic argument of how much apps are up. Look, apps increased and the stats increased. Move on. |
Not all adults. Most of us are just happy to support our kids and our friends’ kids and we don’t care about the prestige of the college. We know it doesn’t matter in the long run. But I agree that there’s a percentage of posters on this particular site who think “top” schools matter. |
