-love the map idea
- love how individual coaches are listed so you can give the club one score and the individual coach another

How long until the richest club buys off the website because their feelings get hurt with reviews? Is there anything they can’t buy? that’s exactly the respect players and parents have for those drunk clowns

It’s not their fault your kid sucks.

Funny, you seem to lack a rebuttal to a factual observation. I’m a VRSC parent and also rich, so I’m happy seeing peasants cry about our rise.

My review: kids play soccer. they have fun. they learn to be on a team. some parents are annoying. some are terrific. Same with the coaches.

The end.

Rich like many people in the DMV, only rich people have the money and energy to try to bend everything to their will when their kids aren’t good enough. And then blame everyone else.

Sorry but your site is wrong/already outdated. Just looking at a couple of the clubs, you have wrong coaches up. It looks like you tried to build your club pages by scrubbing the club websites for info but you have wrong info/people/titles. Bad info in is bad info out. Stay with DCUM.

Agree. Already enough politics and griping, no need for another site.

This. Their next great idea will be rate the ref and they’ll have anonymous people bashing the 13 year old kids who come out to ref games bc not enough adults to do it. Sorry, but hope this goes away..

Seeing some VOLUNTEER coaches posted on your site, OP. Not enough parents to volunteer now. What a horrible idea you are doing.

There should not be reviews of volunteer coaches. OP, what's wrong with you?

Seriously. I think generic club reviews are fine. Specific reviews of coaches and volunteers crosses the line.

This site is looking for a law suit.

Anonymous wrote:Thanks for building this—really appreciate the effort. I’d recommend taking a look at how platforms like Rate My Professor handle reviews of named individuals, especially when it comes to coaches. As a longtime Yelp fan, I’m rooting for your success.

A few thoughts:

*I love the idea that 1-star or 5-star reviews require at least 25 words. That adds substance and cuts down on spam.

*Consider adding two dedicated sections that could also open up advertising opportunities:

- Private trainers or coaching businesses

- Soccer camps
Both would bring real value to users and align with your site's mission.

*A map feature would be super helpful—similar to Yelp. If I’m relocating, I’d want to browse clubs in a specific area and see what’s nearby.

*The homepage feels a bit basic right now. There’s a lot of white space, and the layout could be stronger. I’d recommend hiring a graphic designer to help refine the visual experience.

Thanks again for creating this—excited to see where it goes!

I was going to say, Rate My Professor allows people to be named. But those people are employed by a university. I agree it's totally not cool for any volunteer coaches to be reviewed on a website.

It's also important to keep in mind that some people will say things that are straight up untrue in these type of online reviews. If too many people do that, the info won't be so useful. But there's no real way to verify or prevent it. I usually take anonymous online reviews with a grain of salt.

Not OP but it seems to be working.

I’ve had this idea in my head for a while… so my husband and I finally built it as a side project:

https://ratemysoccerclub.com

(TL;DR: It's Yelp for youth soccer clubs.)

Like many of you, we pour a lot of time and money into our kids and this sport. We built RateMySoccerClub to be a place where parents and players can share honest, anonymous feedback about their clubs and coaches.

Your reviews help other families, bring more transparency and accountability to club soccer, and help create a better experience for players, families, coaches, and clubs.

The site is just ~30 days old and already has ~300 reviews for clubs and coaches all over the US. Weirdly we don't have any reviews for DC-area clubs yet:

https://ratemysoccerclub.com/country/united-states/state/dc

I'd love to hear your ideas and feedback -- and I'm sure that we're missing lots of local clubs.

And please leave a review or two if you haven't already!

Kelly
