This is awesome but I'm not going first!

I think this is nice attempt but too ambitious. Youth soccer is very local. I’d suggest you have person or team in each city to curate the reviews.

Also, if you’re looking at sites like OPs or this forum for info, your kid isn’t more than rec level. The kids who are playing MLSNext and above have parent coaches or parents who know who to go to. OR ur kid is so good that other ppl share info with you to make sure ur kid gets they need and don’t get lost in club politics.

Anonymous reviews on coaches using their full names? What could possibly go wrong? Get ready for the lawsuits and take down notices.

OP. I've also had this idea for a while. Thank you for actually building it! My hat is off to you!

Time to check it out!

Yeah, isn't that why people cannot post full names here? Someone didn't think this through I don't feel like.

Alexandria staff giving the club/itself 5 out of 5. no surprise.

DCUM is a great example of what happens when you allow for anonymous reviews. Trolling galore by parents who aren’t even in said club.

Even when parents from said club criticize, it is mostly because griping about how their kid should be in a higher tier therefore the club is practicing nepotism. They are encouraged to exaggerate, misjudge, or outright lie because their anonymity allows them not to be called out.

Every club has social media accounts (FB & IG). People with legit gripes can easily leave reviews there.

OP here.

1) It's a public service that absolutely needs to exist in the world. Families sink lots of time and $$ into youth / club soccer and there is very little accountability or transparency from the clubs.

2) I *think* that there might be a small business here selling functionality / data / access to larger clubs -- reply to reviews, premium profiles, data services, etc. Still a ways to go on this...

So you copied and took the idea from ratemyprofessors.com

I think listing the coaches by name is really tacky.

i have a 13 year old that plays MLS Next, its a national league and the top level for youth soccer for his age.

this idea is brilliant. we pay thousands of dollars every year to our club not to mention all of the time and travel.

some coaches have been great but a couple have been very bad.

the only feedback mechanism we get is an end of year survey that the club obviously ignores.

I think it’s irresponsible. Some parents are so crazy and stalkerish.

They are stunned by this hahaha

They didn't know they can be adults and mature to have a civilized conversation with their team/club leadership without hiding behind Anonymous and slinging mud

well if they didn’t care about unsolicited feedback then they surely won’t care about unsolicited anonymous feedback on a website
