$250k is not a common federal salary. Either they're MDs or work for the SEC. The SEC has to pay that much because financial personnel could make $1M or more per year on wall Street. It's the only way they can attract anyone to work there. |
This. I’m a fed lawyer at a non financial agency and even the SES here top out at $220k. Most lawyers at my agency make between $140k and $195k. It’s a lot of money but it ain’t $250k! And it’s a pittance compared with the more prestigious private practices. |
Not sure where the pp got the 250k figure; mostly only MDs would make that at FDA. |
