Of course MAGA didn't want this. Only Elon Musk wanted this. Enough congresspeople got angry phone calls from constituents after reading about the firings in the paper that these people were begged to come back. Some will, some won't.

This is how many firings by DOGE are being unfired, after a journalist or reporter covers it. What about a government service that a reporter doesn't hear about? In 6 months or 2 years, when something bad happens and we wonder why no one was paying attention, we'll say, oh yeah, agency XYX used to do that but Elon Musk fired all of them in 2025. Sorry.

Stop that is what maga voted for

During the campaign, Project 2025 was wildly wildly unpopular and Trump swore six ways to Sunday that he had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

MAGA did not vote for it.

Yes they did and they still support it. Please stop lying. DOGE is extremely popular with maga and republicans.

@#$* Musk and the whole DOGE. They've already created problems it will take years to solve, for very little in savings. And they are making just as much money as the scientists they have fired.

Just wait until milk becomes contaminated and kills a whole bunch of the white kids they care about. Then no one will want to drink it until they figure out how to fix what DOGE broke.

But he's saving us $2 trillion dollars a year! Sorry, make that $1 trillion. Oops now it's $150 billion but it's going to cost $135 billion.

DOGE is not about saving money. It’s about destroying things that the right wing that MAGA doesn’t like - USAID or regulators. If anything, DOGE has shown that the government has less waste than people may have expected.

Then we’ll see where we really are.

If AOC were Dem Oversight it would happen. Connelly? Doubt he has the fight in him. Will be nice to see it.

Accountability from this bunch? They don't know which way is up.

YES they did vote for it… they voted for it by voting for a compulsive liar and felon.

I bet your partner was working before January 20. My DH works at FDA, has survived the cuts so far but his productivity is down the drain (even though he was forced to go back to the office 5 days a week). He cannot communicate with the outside (and his work requires him yo do so), had to spend time scrubbing documents of references to things the new administration does not like, people he was working with cut with no replacement, work his department was doing before with no issues (under Obama, Trump 1 and Biden) suddenly must be approved by political appointee parachuted from magaland who knows nothing, so nothing gets done because nobody knows what can be done and how. They even had to endure the visit and speech of RFK telling the employees that they are the deep state. The hope is that the current commissioner, as a non total idiot, will manage to bring the FDA to a working condition. But the people who were fired need to be brought back because their work was necessary

Our office has become a complete shit show of pointless chaos and dysfunction thanks to DOGE and Trump EOs. We've lost funding, staff, contractors, were already working our asses off before all this hit. We already had major national programs that were only one or two feds deep, and with cuts, it's so much worse. We have antiquated systems needing modernization being hit with 50% budget cuts which gives us no way to modernize them let alone keep them running. They want to cut things that are statutorily mandated. We are already facing deluges of FOIAs and inquiries. Our agency will get sued and lose even more resources as a result. Any MAGA dufus who I catch saying "feds don't work" had better have lightning fast reflexes to avoid my fist.

That’s a disgusting thing to say. I hope your date finds a nicer person. Feds work hard and are getting tortured for no reason. They deserve your compassion, not your censure. Shame on you.

Trump swore six ways to Sunday he had nothing to do with Project 2025 and then went right to work rolling it out.

He is a pathological liar and you MAGAs voted for him anyhow.

We warned you that he is a liar, you ignored us. We warned you that he was going to implement Project 2025, you ignored us.

He lied, and he rolled out Project 2025. Those are now indisputable facts.

When are you going to stop and realize that you were wrong and we were right all along?

When are you going to stop doubling down on Trump and his constant lies?

Musk is not the head of DOGE. Amy Gleason is the acting head. Musk has no legal responsibility.

She was chosen in Feb 2025, after DOGE started making changes. At that point, I assume Trump realized Musk could not legally be head of DOGE. It’s not clear she was making any decisions. But maybe she’s now making decisions to undo what Musk did.

“For weeks, the White House had declined to say whether there was a DOGE administrator — let alone name one. Trump created the position on Inauguration Day. He had previously said Musk would lead the DOGE office, though Musk was never named to the position, and his comments about Musk's role during a speech in March 2025 sparked legal controversy.”

I hate to break it to you, but I saw news yesterday implying FDA is in massive trouble. Due to the toxic work environment, apparently TONS of scientists there are actively seeking to bail. They mentioned hundreds of reviewers are looking for new work because no one wants to work for RFK/Makary and this insane administration who'll probably force FDA people to sign off on crazy treatments and ideas, or pull them due to politics and not science. If that many reviewers leave, the whole system for food and drug safety could collapse.

This is a great example of how inefficient DOGE is.

I wonder how many of them have moved on and will not be returning. FAFO.

Hopefully most, especially the corrupted ones.

Why do you have such low standards?

Good question.
