WTAF are you trying to ask here? I don't believe any of my family still lives in the town. We do still have relatives in New England, but my grandparents moved to the DC area around WWII. I am practically translucent, if that is part of your question that I can't decipher. I descend from early settlers and also early 20th century immigrants. I have an undergrad and grad degree in politics/policy. I care about this country and the principles it supposedly stands for. I have zero criminal record, but I am anti-Trump AF. I make no bones about that. He and his followers are a threat to this country and practically everything he has done has been undemocratic and unconstitutional (I hope it is ruled as such) This regime is tearing down everything and ripping away civil liberties. I know the poem and I believe that this regime WILL try to take someone like me, even with my all american pedigree, out. Fascists (which they are) silence opposition. I will oppose them for as long as I possibly can. There will likely come a moment that I have to just get my children out - hopefully I can do this before they come for me. I am looking for the easiest way to do this, as I sadly don't have any easy ties for a dual citizenship/passport somewhere. Call me a nutjob, but don't say I didn't warn you when they start jailing anyone opposed to them. |
Overland Park or Leawood, Kansas (cheap is relative); Blue Valley School District; The University of Kansas Honors Program |
I assume you mean Hagerstown? I mean, it might work for some. They are a red part of a Blue district. I personally wouldn't move there because it is very far from...well, life. But some people like that. |
Aww, sending OP into the belly of the beast. How not nice of you for this recommendation |

Almost every major city in every red state is actually blue. Just look at the last election map.
Nashville is awesome. It's getting more expensive to live there as more people have flocked to it. Nashville is very liberal and also very accepting of LGBTQ. I have relatives who moved there in 2020 and visit them frequently. What is hilarious to me is that pretty much every bar and restaurant on Broadway has a sign that says no guns allowed, not even concealed carry. You think of Nashville as being this very southern, traditional place but it's not at all. I could see myself living in Nashville. Tampa, FL is also very blue. Terrible public schools, though. No one I know who lives in Tampa sends their kid to public. However, prices are much more affordable down there. One friend pays the same price for 2 of hers to attend private that I pay up here for 1 to attend private. |
Oh, yes! Leawood, KS is a good one. My brother used to live there when he worked at AMC Theatres corporate in Leawood. I loved the area when I visited. Overland Park also has a very strong Jewish community if that's something you're looking for. |

Yet again, I'm not moving any female of childbearing age to any red state. Do so at your own peril.
Of course, until the right to terminate a pregnancy is taken away at the Federal level. Then we leave this country. I'm not losing any female I love to idiotic laws like the one that took the woman I mentioned above. |
I feel the same about women being safe on college campuses and running trails in blue cities that have liberal policies about violent criminals being released on low or no bail to hatm again. |
States and cities are nit same same, but good try! You’re proof positive that American education could use some improvement. |
Right? And the statistics are overwhelming that what you’re talking about has a massive human cost. What the other poster is talking about is a weird outlier. No offense to that pp—any death is too many, etc. But those horror stories are few and far between and generally highly spun by abortion activists. I din’t mean to be insensitive. I really am just trying to bring in some statistical sense of relative risk assessment. Former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop said, “In 35 years of medicine, I have never seen one case where abortion was necessary to save the mother’s life.” Maybe he was lying. But we’ve seen millions of violent crimes in blue cities. |
|
right, because people care SOOO much about rape victims on college campuses. GMAFB
And yes, C Everett Koop WAS lying. He knew full well that D&Cs to finish a miscarriage or to end an ectopic can save a woman's life. They just don't want to talk about THOSE abortions - they don't fit the narrative of the sl*ts who couldn't close their legs. I won't try to pretend that crime isn't happening. The overwhelming majority is in places that tourists don't go to - we're generally talking about tough neighborhoods. Those do exist and it is unfortunate and I could spend hours talking about the reasons these places exist. |
Hyperbole and the opposite is true. Please give one example of contemporary liberals being extreme? A desire for sound government, functional democracy with checks and balances to power, universal health care and high quality public education is not considered extreme in any other western country. Conservatives now condone radical extremism, Dismantling of federal government in unconstitutional ways, defying rule of law, and giving a convicted felon unfettered control of both legislative and executive arms of government. |
I need you in another thread. These folks will rail about WOKISM and IDENTITY POLITICS. And of course OPEN BORDERS. RABBLE RABBLE |
Good, but did you just turn this into a debate about which hellscape women should be condemned to: the one with few women’s health care options or the one where they are raped (and can’t abort) or violently killed? Because I am against both hellscapes. You should be too. |
| A lot of federal talent are being scooped up for similar jobs at the state and county levels, and scientists are being encouraged to Canada and Europe. |
