How to stop supporting X

Like most of Leon Skum's acquisitions, he bought a functional thing and then broke it. X is not what Twitter once was, and the algorithm is skewed hard toward propaganda.

Delete your account. You can find accurate news in a dozen other places, skewing right or left (or mostly neither) to your pleasure. You may not hear the gossip right when it breaks, and you should really consider why you'd even want to. If you're in a need to know position, you need better sources. If you're not, enjoy your life and read proper news coverage, not scuttlebutt drivel.

The propaganda and disinfo is going to get worse before it gets any better (if it ever does). Get out of the way of the firehose. Subscribe to a few substacks, support a credible news organization or six, and make the conscious decision to cut back on gossip and social media opinion, which is most of what twitter has always been, and the overwhelming majority of what it has become now.

If you cannot manage to navigate X without falling for propaganda, the problem is not the platform.

X is the news now.

This. Legacy MSM TV media is deader than Cronkite. Less than 10 million daily viewers total in the USA and more than half of those are FOX viewers. CNN has less than 500,000 daily viewers.

Listen to yourselves. If you don't agree with it, it must be propaganda. SMH. You people are the problem.

If X is your news, you are regularly consuming propaganda. Everyone should delete their accounts.

So the only alternative to X is network TV news? Are you an AARP member?

Sounds like you need to stop using X then.

This.

Most users here live in a bubble of their own rich creation. They have no idea about the outside world or how different things really are out there.

Spoken like someone who has already consumed more BS than they know. But I'm sure you think you're smarter than everyone else, so the thing they literally broken/rebuilt it to do could NEVER happen to you.

Actually most users of social media live in a bubble of the algorithm's creation, making accessing the "outside world" difficult (on purpose).

The only way out is to delete your accounts.

True, as most all social media is controlled by just 4 entities. Same as the MSM which is controlled by just 5 corporations.

X is the only largely used media source where the people have a voice. Which is why it is full of wackos, but also full of the truth. It requires intelligence to wade through it, as viewers are not spoonfed the news on it.

A lumbering slow extinct creature. How appropriate.
