How to stop supporting X

Why do you need to know within 40 minutes? I would rather have accurate reporting a bit later than lies and conspiracy theories immediately on X.

If you need the instant, short attention posts of social media, try blue sky instead.

I saw evidence of Biden’s obvious decline on X while the mainstream media was covering it up, and therefore was not surprised by the debate performance the way that people who only trust MSM were.

I don’t think responsible news consumers can ignore X.

I would say overall switching to Bluesky was a net positive.

I want to leave X, but BlueSky is far too much of an extreme left echo chamber. It is the worst of pre-Elon Twitter magnified.

I think you just need to follow accounts. Mine is just the accounts I follow more or less. Which is like 10.

No, because what I like about X is not just the accounts but also the back and forth. The BlueSky reaction to Jesse Singal merely joining shows me that BS is not a serious place yet.

So, unfortunately, I am stuck with X.

People who think there are facts and honest news on X are why our country is in swift decline. Please, do better. Read more than a handful of words on any topic. Don’t depend on something run by Elon Musk for truth.

X has news and opinions from all sides. You listen to them then you get to think and form your own opinion. I know that’s hard for you but maybe give it a try. You might like it!

Nobody should rely on one source of news. It doesn't matter if it's CNN, Fox, X, Politico, NBC, etc. X does have "honest" news. It also has crap, but so does the mainstream news networks (ahem 60 minutes). Never trust one source.

Explain to me why X was covering Biden’s decline extensively and accurately months before his debate appearance, but mainstream media was not.

I first learned about the DCA crash on DCUM and from there I went to reddit. I don't need to go to X.

I got on Twitter in 2017 because it was faster than the news and I could find out more stuff. But I have to admit that knowing all that stuff, and sooner, did not meaningfully improve my life.

F it. I'm going to go out of my way to ensure I don't support Elmo.

X USED TO have opinions from all sides. Not since Musk took over. It has some diversity of viewpoints but mostly rwnj posters, like musk himself. And he makes all users see his nonsense. I learn things from many sources - traditional newspapers, online news sites, podcasts and substacks. I don’t need tweet length social media posts to know the news, think or form my own opinion. People who read tweets and declare themselves well informed are truly sad. And responsible for the decline in criticism thought, awareness f news and facts and susceptibility to conspiracy theories. Social media is not news.

Should we stop posting links to X?

Yes
Anyone still posting there is a traitor to the US you are helping fund a coup

Well the coup is done but it’s still unacceptable and unamerican

Same with FB and instagram and threads

Given those shits more ad revenue is unamerican given the are planning on taking everything you own

You do recognize that there’s no such thing as a tweet-length post, right? This is not Twitter, it’s X. Type as much as you want, with videos and discussions and links and threads and supporting documents. Much more info than you’ll find in a newspaper. Legacy media is dead, X is the news now. Sorry Mr. Elon hurt your feelings.
