How to stop supporting X

Anonymous
People constantly link to comments posted on X. Don't clicks create $ for the X poster we are all offended by? I used to see another way to look at twitter posts but I can't find that now.

Should we stop posting links to X?

You can find an alternate source and be behind on current events but I won’t do that.

X is the news now.

X isn’t the news! It’s overrun with rwnj. No need to go there. I wish X links weren’t posted here but I think Jeff is fine with them.

X is 48% blue and 47% red.

X is tough to avoid. When the 2 plane crashes happened, X was the first to "report" the news. Especially the Philadelphia crash. It took the network news about 30 mins to report on it. So until there is another source, I'll stick to it. For the Whitman fight, it was on X and the news took a day or two to confirm it.

Bluesky is decent and a lot of reporters also post there. I switched - lost some accounts I followed on X, but found a few others I used to follow on Twitter but had abandoned X.
I would say overall switching to Bluesky was a net positive.

Why do you need to know within 40 minutes? I would rather have accurate reporting a bit later than lies and conspiracy theories immediately on X.

If you need the instant, short attention posts of social media, try blue sky instead.

Blue Sky is nothing but a LWNJ echo chamber.

If you see news on X, go find it on bluesky and post that instead

I have tried switching to Bluesky but many of the accounts I follow haven’t gone there yet, and the app is annoying because it doesn’t pick up where you left off, but up at the top. That’s the problem with leaving X; there is no one logical place to go.

Bring back the RSS feeders!

I want to leave X, but BlueSky is far too much of an extreme left echo chamber. It is the worst of pre-Elon Twitter magnified.

I deleted it when it got sold and I used it for news. Honestly I’ve been fine without it. I had some pangs right after the plane crash, but ultimately it doesn’t hurt me at all to learn something a few hours later.

I think you just need to follow accounts. Mine is just the accounts I follow more or less. Which is like 10.

Or I can just use X.
