Go watch the videos from last year comparing what happens when someone wears a Kamala hat to a Trump rally vs. when somebody wears a Trump hat to a Kamala rally. In general, there was a lot more politeness at the Trump rallies and a lot more abuse at the Kamala rallies.[/quote

In 2016 I was more tolerant of Trump voters. I figured they'd see by the end of the four years who he was. For many J6 woke them up but I know a couple of friends and family that have continued to go down a very hateful MAGA road. I have cut them out. It's sad there is one who blindly follows her husband and only watches fox. She talks about violent immigrants all the time. I have acquaintances and extended family who are MAGA. I wouldn't consider them friends, and I have always kept them at a distance because they were jerks before MAGA. They have always been unpleasant, insecure, rude, and overly anxious.

I don't have any otherwise reasonable friends and/or acquaintances who all of a sudden flipped a switch and became MAGA. For the MAGA people I know the madness has always been there.

This is true my MAGA family were always hateful jerks....but I have had friends who truly surprised me. It felt like a death but I have cut them out.

I had to block the only non- family maga connection I have on social media. I truly think he’s a good person and means well, but he has become convinced that there are geeen lizard people, every politician on earth (and the pope) are “secretly” arrested, the democrats manipulated the weather to cause natural disasters …. the democrats are killing and eating babies. i assume there's mental illness in the mix at this point, but he's been marinating in the maga propaganda machine for so long it's just too exhausting to maintain a friendship. In his case, it's more like he's been seduced by a cult than straight politics, but everytime he repeated one of these crazy things it was followed by a picture of his great leader who would save us all.

Proud to say I have good friends across the whole political spectrum. Maybe there are a few people I don’t seek out because they say obnoxious stuff on social media, but close friends are too important for politics. Why bring it up if you know you’re on opposite sides?

Well 2016 and beyond (and especially 2020 and beyond) is very different. Sure I didn't like GWB (didn't like gore either but knew he was the lesser of two evils), but I could get along with people who supported him. Now, if someone voted for this Nazi clown and the damages he is doing to our country and the world, well I have a more challenging time wanting to spend time with someone like that. Almost everyone I know who voted for trump in 2016 and 2020 (less that time) voted for Harris this time---they may not have been thrilled but they were smart enough to realize any vote against Harris was a path to electing trump. So thankfully, I only have a few friends who I just don't want to be with anymore.

Yes. I am likely going to lose my job over this. I will never speak to them again. I am so upset because my own father voted for this…he essentially voted for me to lose my job.
