Proud to say I have good friends across the whole political spectrum. Maybe there are a few people I don’t seek out because they say obnoxious stuff on social media, but close friends are too important for politics. Why bring it up if you know you’re on opposite sides?

I'm a Democrat whose sister became very hostile because I don't believe men can ever be women. She threatened to cut me off over it and I wasted no time actually cutting her off. She's a disgrace and she can go to hell. *Shrug*

Yes actually an old friend specifically reached out to insult me and my family using MAGA talking points. I always had given him the benefit of the doubt and then he turned on me for no reason. He just hated the image in his mind of what I was all about. I haven’t ever spoken to him again.

I have two good friends that don’t speak to one another. One is Palestinian- American and the other one is Russian Jewish and lived in Israel for years. They have not spoke since 10/6/2023. I still speak to both.

Any pair of friends that would allow political differences to form a wedge in their friendship were never true friends to begin with so no one loses anything in this circumstance.

I am very polite to everyone and even curious and interested in all kinds of viewpoints. I think it’s valuable to learn why people voted for trump or maga and we need to be aware of those factors. That being said - friends? Nah. Fundamental huge values misalignment as I think trump is evil incarnate so to me would be like someone voted for putin or Stalin to run America. Would not be friends with them either. Interested in why? Yes. Friends - no.

Recently? No. I cut off a few people when Trump ran the first time. Thankfully, they out themselves pretty quick.

Having differing opinions of Trump is not the same as having opposing political viewpoints. Trump is not a political viewpoint. We all can agree he sucks as a human being while at the same time we can have opposing opinions on most appropriate income tax code.

Yes, I am a Democrat and have tired over a few friends "whatabouting" re: J6...they try to say something minor is equal to domestic terrorists trying to overthrow democracy. I would be fine not talking about politics but they can't stop.
