Get him a disqualifying diagnosis. Trump has taught all our young men how to do this. I don't know if that bone spurs thing that Trump used is still available but there are others.

But not “too much” of a diagnosis. Because eugenics.

DP. I needed a laugh, ty!! We should be friends.

Should we plan to flee? Should we teach them more about world history and economics? Should we set up accounts that they can access overseas?

I obviously have no idea so help me out here!

Some of you have lost your damn minds.

Yep. Astounding that democrats are opposed to saving money, getting rid of waste and fraud, ensuring women compete in women’s sports, and working toward world peace.

WTF? How is this promoting world peace? It’s doing the opposite.

There will be no draft. The army saw a record umber of recruits in January compared to the past 15 years.

Citation?

Democrats support all of these things, and you know it.

What is happening now is State Capture. If you support it, you are a traitor.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10034251/

"State capture is a type of systematic corruption whereby narrow interest groups take control of the institutions and processes through which public policy is made, directing public policy away from the public interest and instead shaping it to serve their own interests...The captors of the state were businesspeople, soon to be known as ‘oligarchs’, who purchased influence over policy formation through direct kickbacks or promises of favours, using personal connections to the individuals and parties holding political power. This framing of business as the captors of politics probably always overstated the separation between the two spheres, when in many transition states, the distinction between the public and private sector was in fact blurred—sometimes intentionally. In the early years of post-Soviet transition in Russia, Wedel described the phenomenon of “institutional nomads” (Wedel 2003), i.e., individuals who strategically moved between public-sector and private-sector roles, depending on where they could best access advantages or avoid regulation. By shifting their shape and surfing on the rules that applied to different sectors, they were able to either influence the rules or evade them, effectively operating outside legal frameworks."

I wish I were kidding. The people in this administration have written some seriously dark stuff.

Be composed, don't lose your shit in front of your kids. Teach them to stay informed and learn to decipher the news for the truth but to always stay calm. Keep them active and healthy. Then quietly stock up on savings and work on getting citizenship somewhere else. Don't tell your kids so as not to instill fear or a sense of instability, but do i just in case.

You are a fool if you think this is about getting rid of waste and fraud. This is about privatizing government functions to enrich Trump's friends. It's called oligarchy.

True but oligarchy influencing American politics and government is nothing new. This problem has grown rapidly during the last 10 to 15 years. These hush hush relationships that our politicians used to keep behind closed doors aren't so hush hush with Trump in office. He simply doesn't care what we think at this point.

You're correct that the wealthy and powerful have influenced us politics too much for a long time. The difference is now there are no guardrails. Trump is destroying the bureaucracy, which ignorant people disparaged as the swamp but by and large sought to follow the law and serve the public. Now the bureaucracy will be inescapably political and of course will cater to powerful people who hold Trump's favor. There won't be anyway to stop them from breaking the law.

There are still guardrails in place. At this point all we can do is hope and pray that the people in position to uphold those guardrails do what's in the best interests of their country if put into a position where a guardrail is necessary to maintain government function as we know it. I still have faith in our system of government and faith in the patriotism of most of our government officials. Trump does put a strain on faith, for sure.

I can promise you that in most places in the country, NO ONE is thinking about or caring about the changes happening. They don't think about politics at all. And if they do, they hear about wasteful government bureaucracy being dismantled in Washington and think, "good," then go about their lives.

They don't care that malaria care is being cut in Uganda. They are happy that their state and local school district will have more control over what is taught. They voted for a guy who said he would install judges to overturn Roe v. Wade, and they got what they asked for.

You might not agree with these choices, but they aren't any less American than you are. It's called a correction. The pendulum swung too far in one direction, and now it is swinging back. I don't necessarily agree with all of it, but I also haven't wrapped myself in tinfoil awaiting Armageddon. That is my recommendation.

I don't want my kids dying so Trump can ethically cleanse and conquer Gaza. Maybe most voters don't care, but I don't think it's crazy to have stopping that be the guiding force in my life.

Did your adult child volunteer for the U.S. Armed Forces? If so, you don't have much of a say in where they get sent. If they haven't, there is no draft, and you don't have anything to worry about. I doubt there will ever be a draft again given the technological advancements in warfare.

Look, I am a right-leaning independent who voted for Trump in 2016. What is currently happening is terrifying because it is ILLEGAL. The president has no authority to close an agency or stop allocated money from reaching its target. These are under the purview of Congress. This is basic 7th grade civics division of branches stuff. And Musk has no security clearance or authority to do most of what he’s doing. It’s not about reducing waste and spending. It’s about trampling the constitution and compromising national security.

I believe there are guardrails when I see them working. So far they aren't.
