Plan B expires. So do pregnancy tests. Maybe just move to a place where politics isn't the end-all-be-all guiding force of your life, and you and your kids will be happier? I can promise you that in most places in the country, NO ONE is thinking about or caring about the changes happening. They don't think about politics at all. And if they do, they hear about wasteful government bureaucracy being dismantled in Washington and think, "good," then go about their lives. They don't care that malaria care is being cut in Uganda. They are happy that their state and local school district will have more control over what is taught. They voted for a guy who said he would install judges to overturn Roe v. Wade, and they got what they asked for. You might not agree with these choices, but they aren't any less American than you are. It's called a correction. The pendulum swung too far in one direction, and now it is swinging back. I don't necessarily agree with all of it, but I also haven't wrapped myself in tinfoil awaiting Armageddon. That is my recommendation.
I don't want my kids dying so Trump can ethically cleanse and conquer Gaza. Maybe most voters don't care, but I don't think it's crazy to have stopping that be the guiding force in my life.
Did your adult child volunteer for the U.S. Armed Forces? If so, you don't have much of a say in where they get sent. If they haven't, there is no draft, and you don't have anything to worry about. I doubt there will ever be a draft again given the technological advancements in warfare.
