Fight at Whitman

Hard to believe he didnt sustain some kind of permanent brain damage. Natasha Richardson fell and hit her head once and died from it. Often these traumatic brain injuries take time to show up, sometimes not even until later in life

It is a countywide issue- the question is whether the new superintendent will actually do anything about it. Those kids should not be allowed on property again. This is where virtual instruction should be used. Let them access the curriculum without being able to hurt the rest of the kids.

Because why should well-off kids from nice backgrounds be able to live peacefully huh? They should be forced to live in terror too.

Now you see the end result of supposedly "compassionate" programs. It's really just score settling and old vendettas come to life. Resentment for the achieving and functional class and punishment for their children.

If Whitman parents dont do something about this they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

Whitman zoned parent here. We voted with our feet and moved out kids to private a few years ago. We actually drive past Whitman on the way to school every day.

My thoughts exactly! Apparently racism and sexism only go one way. Whites cannot experience racism, right? And women cannot be the perpetrators of sexism, right? ....and people wonder how Trump won

Maybe if black kids got the message that their lives matter then in maybe they will stop the violence. I think we should make appropriate consequences for the violence and work hard to show them how much their lives matter. They matter this many detentions and this many suspensions worth.

There is a big "Black Lives Matter" banner in front of the church just down the road (corner of Whittier and River Road)

These kids need to be in special schools. They shut them down. They got rid of virtual so that’s not an option and given their behavior virtual probably wouldn’t work.

That’s on their parents. Parents should be held accountable.

No, if he were willing he would have by now. It’s going to take a dead child or staff or two for change.

Do white kids matter? Thus was a white kid that got brutally attacked and it was deliberate.

Miller was a terrible assistant principal during his time at Churchill. He's a big supporter of restorative justice. That's what will happen to those that caused the fight. No consequences, no penalties. More fights to come.

+1. Why didn’t the kids barred from entering the bathroom get help? Alert someone?

That might be true. My middle schooler tells me about similar kids (who have been to juvie) at Pyle. They don’t go to class and cause trouble all day.
