- sport Canadian flags all over their luggage and backpacks when they travel …

- add a friendly “eh” at the end of questions and even plain sentences;

- are quick to say sorry while many Americans seem to regard offering apologies as equivalent to slow painful deaths (but to be fair are also quick to say apologies are not needed);

- usually speak French and even their English has an accent (in Quebec anyway);

- are more liberal in general (universal health care/ no bans on abortion/ marijuana is legal/ GTLBQ+ have powerful rights); and

- are much less likely to identify as religious (except about ice hockey).



To me as a non American and non Canadian it is usually easy to see and hear the difference when I meet them both. I like them both and they both have their quirks, like the rest of us.

I know that's a stereotype but to me it's a total myth! Granted, I mostly know people from Quebec, but they are not polite at all, rude even. Meanwhile I say sorry ALL the time (too much, trying to stop)

You sound like a pleasant and easy to get along with person. I work in a country with a lot of people from different nationalities, and the Canadians are among the nicest ones.
