Yes, people will learn the hard way the severe consequences of following cult leader who doesn't care about working folks. Hopefully, these people will learn for next election. You are all weird with all this "casting a vote" thing. You know well that DC, MD and even VA don't vote red and they didn't. Your problem is the rest of the country. Ask yourself a question why the rest of the country voted the way they did, and I am going to argue that Dems simply pushed them too hard, a lot of these issues were not that important and those of us with moderate views and not taking radical sides had been warning repeatedly, dems did this to themselves. The rest of the country doesn't give a sh** about unemployment in DC or have any sympathy for fed workers or contractors who they regard as evil leeches stealing their hard earned money or at least lazy moochers. The sentiment on X is downright disgusting. It demoralizing even for me despite the fact that I've never worked for any gov functions and my employment is not affected by anything in DC metro.

The people on X are losers in life. They want nothing more than others brought down to their shitty level. They know their lives won't improve from any of this.

Many are in fact literally on welfare...fake SS disability, Medicaid, etc. If you want to save $1TN...that's where the money is.

The Post has a story about how a defense company in Central VA had to fire a ton of people and one of the idiot Trump voters made the comment that "I didn't think Trump's election would directly result in my losing my job". This person is f**ked because they were making far more than the median income for the area in which they live.

Between RTO and conversion of empty federal office buildings it seems like DC is ready to explode (in a good way). It’s a beautiful city on the water with priceless museums and monuments. Tons of tech and international money. NOVA is solid. Montgomery County, not so sure about…

It is the craziest thread on X that people want rich government workers and contractors to suffer layoffs like them.

It’s also crazy that they want welfare to be cut off and for government to stop helping welfare people in cities.

Civil servants are not wealthy. Our pay scales are published. A stable job is kinda the goal of most economies but government jobs are not cushy and often come with beloved “re-orgs” which are stressful and frequent.

Federal contractors do not have stable jobs. Everyone knows it’s riskier than federal civil jobs. Contracts get cut. Positions get cut. Don’t even get me started about position eliminations when a person needs maternity leave or short term disability.

Red states need welfare. Talk about a trade deficit. Look at Kentucky. They can’t exist without federal aid. Sure, cancel their support and put tariffs on Kentucky.

I’m want red states to feel pain and they want blue govies to feel pain. Sounds like 2025 is starting off to a brutal note.
