Haha. OP here. If I posted the person’s name, I think there would be a slightly different reaction. I’m actually not a lefty, more moderate. And I live in one of the cheapest, tiniest houses in the neighborhood, not a McMansion. We have had other people here with Secret Service details in the past. Big difference was they were generally friendly neighbors who actually spoke to all of us. This person doesn’t speak to anyone and seems creepier in person than on TV. I am seeing 3-4 Secret Service vehicles and probably more elsewhere. It seems like more than I saw with other people who were more senior. I wish the neighbor would engage a bit more so we could have a general idea of if there is heightened risk or if this is just how it will be for the next four years.
I like the idea of the Hate has No Home. Might have to get a bunch of pride flags, too. |

Just be glad the Secret Service is there, OP! You don't want crazies from any extremist group, or lone wolf actors, thinking they can walk into your neighborhood and start shooting, or plant a bomb. It doesn't matter which party your neighbor works for, and how antisocial they are. What matters for YOUR protection is that the Secret Service is acting as a dissuasive force. Just hope that this neighbor doesn't piss off Trump, and that Trump doesn't revoke his protective detail while he's still living next door to you - because that's when the fun starts!

You seem overly aggressive, even though it's not in your best interest to act this way. This person knows he's reviled. He doesn't talk to you for a reason - he's probably made up his mind that DC is a swamp of communism and corruption. Don't make it more obvious with signs, that's just provocation, and a target if a band of his supporters visits him. Separately, what the heck do you think you can learn from him face-to-face that you can't figure out online?!?!?! If he's reviled, you know someone is going try something at some point. He won't be able to tell you more than that! At this point he may not know himself whether specific threats have been made or not, and even if they have been, that doesn't necessarily translate to immediate risk on your neighborhood. The detail is standard for certain figures that have garnered negative attention, that's all. You should educate yourself on threats and security services - it's a complex field, and there is not certainty, just protocols. It's almost as if you're looking for a confrontation here. Do NOT bother this person. They may or may not be evil, but right now they're probably pretty stressed out with the transition, and stress leads to aggression. Don't be stupid. The protective detail is working in your favor here - while they're in your street, people will think twice about attacking this guy, and you won't become collateral damage. Get it? Sheesh. |

OP, Are your local cops allowed to arrest criminals? If yes, lucky you. If not, you have a problem. |
Miller? He's in my neighborhood. |
| That’s who I guessed, too. |
| I would assume PH. |

Posters: can we PLEASE refrain from the incorrect abbreviation of ‘SS’ (Nazi) and instead use the correct USS or United Secret Service.
Or at the very least, ‘Secret Service?’ |
You're correct, but it's a losing battle at this point. |

+1 So typical. |
| Too bad there aren't any pay phones anymore...you could make random calls to local police to check out the house. Would a burner phone work with no caller ID? Didn't Justin Timberlake use to prank people like this? Whoever wrote negative stuff here has no idea how annoying SS protection in the neighborhood could be. |
So, to recap: you claim you want this person you despise to speak to you and your other neighbors. And yet, if he did, you'd be outraged that he was trying to be friendly to you. I don't blame him for keeping his distance. He knows exactly what kind of hypocrites you are. |
It’s got to be Stephen Miller. Scum of the scum. |
