Orthodontics - we were able to make three consultations within one week of calling and picked the doc we liked best, they let us pay immediately.
Also glasses or contact lenses. Two months supply of Wegovy or Zepbound. |
Nope, FSA for medical gets loaded up front and then taken out of your account with every paycheck until the end of the year, so if OP asked for $3000, that money is already in the account even if she has only contributed $125 so far. Just note OP that you will get taxed on the money you used but didn't contribute. I did this a few years ago when I quit in February. Got my daughter some braces. |

Do you have a temporal thermometer? At the start of the pandemic, I got a SmartGlow Exergen Temporal Scanner that I love. I feel it’s more reliable than my previous ear thermometer, and it’s so fast and easy to use.
You might also pick up a blood pressure monitor. Even if you don’t need one now, you most likely will eventually. |
| A small thing, but sunscreen and tampons count. I’d stock up a few hundred dollars on these combined. |
| Get your teeth whitened at the dental office, prescription sunglasses, Botox with facial at the dermatologist, mole check, inserts for shoes and gym membership? |
| It’s January so barely anything has come out of your paycheck for the FSA. You can spend 3k but change your mindset that the whole 3k is a sunk cost unless you do something. Whatever you buy is gravy. |
| Can the funds be used for a health club membership ? |
| Partial payment for an in-home steam-room or sauna ? |
| I’d get a three month supply of ozempic |
| Also big ticket stuff (ozempic, IVF etc) will almost definitely require a medical provider to sign off that it’s medically necessary. Every FSA is different about what they will accept without a letter. |

This. Look at your paychecks and see how much has been withheld so far. Spend that. If you spend more, it will be withheld from your final paycheck. |
