The shot people are a drag, but think about how much less toilet paper got used.
Sh!+ company means less sh!+. |
I saw a nephew and his wife on Christmas who had weighed close to 400 pounds. Each has lost about 60 pounds on semaglutides and I was thrilled to see their progress. I would much rather have people at a healthy weight than have extra food after a party. |
I'm on zepbound. I don't think it's too different from Ozempic. It's really hard to eat in the beginning - like the first couple months. But after that you adjust. It gives you mental space to be able readjust your emotional relationship with food. I eat about 1600-1800 calories a day now, of nutrient rich food. It didn't happen overnight. I worked with a registered dietitian as well as my doctor (because general practitioners don't seem to know much about obesity and weight loss). I had one small glass of spiked eggnog, one small serving of most of the food selections, and skipped the dessert, not out of calorie counting, but because I enjoyed my dinner thoroughly and was full. Last Christmas I would have had several alcoholic drinks, seconds of everything, and probably two pieces of pie. I indulged, but wasn't gluttonous. That's what the drug helps with. And I don't talk to people about my weight loss. |
I wish I had leftovers. My family ate everything, and I made a lot! |

| Not on the meds but have always eaten healthy and have never gorged at holidays. Have always felt like it’s annoying when people try to force me to eat and say stuff like you can afford to eat this, you're skinny… it’s not about “affording” anything, I just don’t want to feel like s*** three hours later. Not worth it to me. No, it is not normal to completely gorge yourself multiple times between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. Have a few treats here and there, not in excess, and move on. Nice to know I’m not alone now. |

I'm on Wegovy. At the family Christmas, I ate a normal, healthy amount of food, and I didn't think about the food for days in advance. I also didn't spend the time thinking about wanting more food.
I don't drink, before Wegovy or now, so I can't speak to that part of it. |
| This thread is interesting because all of the various ways people love to denigrate obese people have shown up in one place. |
Why is joy only about food and drink for you. Enjoy seeing your friends and family and catching and stop focusing on how much of the spread is consumed. If you enjoy the holiday goodies-great, but don't obsess over what other people eat and drink. See "Let them" theory thread and let go and let people lead their lives. |
How much did you eat? |
“Friends on the shot” will have to remember this expression. LOL. |
The OP's joy is in sneering and judging what everyone else eats, so this completely ruined her holiday. |
| I am overweight. I wear a size medium and I am a size 6. I love my body shape and size. My husband is on the shot. I honestly find him on this medication quite off putting. I don’t like that he didn’t have the drive to try start working out and dieting first. He does not work out or diet now while in the shot. His clothes hang off of him and he is constantly pulling up his pants. He lost fat and muscle so his body shape is very… off looking. He looks older in the face. He does not eat right. He does not eat much at all. He gets excited because his first food consumption is at 6pm but that was a bowl of ice cream. He is tired all the time. He does not feed his body nutrients. My Christmas was not ruined by this shot but my attraction towards him, beyond just the looks, has diminished quite a bit. |
Size 6 isn’t over weight. You sound like an ass, too bad there isn’t a shot for that. Get divorced already. Someone else will appreciate him. |
