And why would eating in moderation ruin a celebration anyway? Stop worrying about what others are eating.
Do you have any friends taking them? I do. They don't eat in moderation, for the most part, they pick at the food and eat miniscule amounts. Like a lhalf cup of soup and two grapes, then talk incessantly about how great their weight loss triumph has been. I'ts not much fun to be around. I will caveat that by saying I'm pretty certain all of them are doing it mostly for vanity, so that might impact the behaviour.
You need a therapist.

You sound judgmental and self-centered (way to make their life choices all about you.)
That said, if you don’t respect their choices and you no longer enjoy their company, do yourself (and everyone else) the favor of moving on. Start by seeing them less often and speaking less frequently. My guess is you’ll all be much better off!
Not OP and people on the shot didn’t “ruin my holiday” by not consuming what they used to, but they can absolutely be a drag. I’m sick of hearing about how bad food tastes and how over-buttered something is or judgements about what people w/o meds are eating and drinking. Everyone should just do their thing and shut up about it. Too buttery/tastes off? The problem is you - keep it to yourself. Let the rest of us who still enjoy food, enjoy it!
This is how I feel. Eat or don't, I don't care. Drink or don't, I don't care. But why do you have to keep talking about how things taste and comment about how much others are eating? Sit there and eat your 3 leaves of lettuce and stfu.
And FTR, I'm plant-based and not "jealous of weight loss" because I don't need to. If you have a dietary restriction or preference or whatever, just keep it to yourself. No one wants to hear about it.
