Are MS boys really very unattractive?

What a bunch of awful people on this thread. So depressing

However, having just been at a school play, what struck me is how much bigger girls are now. The boys were mostly, but not all, whip thin and the girls were heavy.

Might be the specific age. 11/12/13 is kind of a typical chubby stage for girls.

My daughters are in high school and all their friends but one or two are thin with great figures.

Yes, it's middle school. Boys don't start to look better until maybe junior year of highschool. The boys who are cute in middle school usually don't age well.

Most of the boys junior high age got acne, etc. But I remembered for many years the most gorgeous boy in junior high. He had an angelic face -- ohh that bone structure.

He appeared in soap operas -- ahh, the closeups.

He became a Hollywood producer. It was fun to see his name on the credits.

Years passed and I looked him up on Facebook. Still has that angelic face structure but had gained about a hundred pounds.

I don’t really see why some are offended by this post. I’ve kind of noticed this as well (and have two teen DS, one of whom is in middle school).

Boys this age are often going through puberty and all that accompanies that (acne awkwardness braces etc). Other boys haven’t started puberty and are very tiny compared to the girls. Often boys this age do not care a lot about their appearance/clothing/hygiene (beyond what their parents force them to do).

Many of the girls are finished with puberty and take more of an interest in their appearance. Also girls and women have more tools at their disposal to improve appearance in general (makeup, etc).

Most middle school girls seem to look older than the boys. Many could easily pass for high schoolers.

How odd to be noticing and commenting on the attractiveness (or not) of children.

Some boys start getting really attractive. They are growing & getting into their skins.

Knew a group who were all into Axe scents & shopping @ uniqlo

So it totally depends.

I don't know where all these so-called attractive girls are. Boys at least are skinny.

Omg you are so hot. Are you always looking for this much validation? Exhausting.

I’m confused by the number of adult women who think it’s fine to talk about how attractive tween boys are/aren’t?..

Can you imagine if this thread was about a dude commenting on the attractiveness of tween girls?

OML.

There’s nothing ugly about the boys whose only apparent offense here is to be shorter than girls their own age. If you equate pre-pubescence with ugliness there’s something messed up with you.

They change so rapidly, sometimes my son looks adorable, and sometimes I barely recognize him

+1

And describing them as “attractive” made my skin crawl. Gross.

Agree. This is disturbing on so many levels. If it was a bunch of grown men talking about our daughters we would want them jailed. And aren't we trying to teach our daughters body positivity and not buy in to the superficiality of looks. This thread is not helping.

The boys in my area aren't ugly, but they do seem really small and immature compared to the girls, who seem much more grown up. But I think that's pretty typical.
