Moms with boys using men’s locker room?

You sound like someone without a 7 or 8 year old. I shudder to think about my kids’ feet touching the floor of those places or them dropping soap and picking it back up and using it or laying their towels down in stagnant water then using it. Nah I need to wash my own kids at that age

Keep on those anxiety meds

Have you witnessed a 7 y/o boy try to get himself out of a wet bathing suit and into dry clothes? Especially if you have a neurodiverse kid like mine who is exceptionally uncoordinated and immature. I would not let him off to go change by himself in a men’s locker room. He changes in the car instead, but no they are not all old enough and capable of changing on their own.

Then a robe or a family changing room is the answer. You don't get to turn a men's locker room into an everyone locker room just because your kid has issues getting dressed. Presumably, the mom cared enough about her kid's privacy to not change in the hallway but didn't think the men deserved the same respect.

Pretty sure everyone on this thread agrees. The PP was just pointing out that 7 yr old boys can’t go in by themselves.

There was then a period where they were a little old for that but too young to be in a locker room alone (and had difficulties with wet swimsuits and changing). So I would take them out to my car and change them in the parking lot (minivan for the win) or just have them sit on a towel for the drive home and shower/change at home. I would never dream of making other men uncomfortable like this. I think you’re totally within your right to complain about this happening if it occurs again (hopefully it was a weird one off).

That said I really wish there was a family changing room so this was a non issue!

But this is kinda why there was a family and kid swim hour. Maybe Op shouldn’t have been in there.

You think there's a family/kid swim hour so women can use the mens changeroom? wtf?

Same. Yet this happens ALL THE TIME. Even in the women's bathroom places where there isn't a locker room.

Your 8 year old son does not need to come into the women's bathroom!!!

My gym and pool is at our country club. They don't allow opposite sex kids over the age of 2 in the locker rooms. Don't mess with the grandma crowd. They will report you in a nanosecond.

This is not okay, they need to wait until all the little girls (who don't care one little bit) are out of the women's changing room OR send the boys in themselves.

The obvious solution here is to put the child in a warm robe and take him home to change and shower. Hell, this is what we do in the summer - the kids put on a cover up, we drive home, everyone showers.

Not ok at all. At our swimming pool age 6 is the limit for going into the opposite changing room. So my 7 year old Dd had to learn to change herself or deck change if dad was taking her swimming.

Which is why kids don’t belong in locker rooms.

They’re not in the opposite sex one. . Good thing about country clubs is you can kick people out if they don’t follow the rules.

It's disgusting how much radfems hate male children.

I'd just start helicopter style swinging my hog around if I saw a woman come into the mans locker room

I'm not the PP you quoted
Just because someone doesn't want 10 year old boys to see them naked, doesn't make them a "radfem" or someone who hates male children.
